In the current Object Editor, the Tile Properties dialog box has the option for 'Displayed Texture' and allows you to Browse to a bit map file.
This would be very useful for building things like rail yards or port facilities, even airfields, however it doesn't work, at least not as far as I can tell. I've included both a bit map and the corresponding alpha files, both in the tile folder and in the texsrc folder for my terrain as well as other folders, without any success.
If this feature, of including a texture as the ground for projects built in the Object Editor, could be made to work, it would be very helpful.
btw, the texture does display in the OE, albeit in a strange high-light, just not in the TE or in game. Also, I've used many combinations of check boxes attempting to make it work.
If I've missed something that would cause this to work as suggested, I'd appreciate someone pointing out the proper settings.
