common people....stop trashing peoples threads just cause you have a proubly with what they beleive in!! last few gun threads turned into bashing till hightech closes it...same with god threads..is it really worth the fighting?...its kinda like a tv..if you have a problem with whats on..change the channel!! dont sit there and keep complaining about what you are seeing!!
tired of all the threads i am interested in..being shut down..cause some folks dont like it and have to turn it into a fight!! ..again..like the tv..change the channel.
i dout this will change anything..but frustating when every thread you say somthing on gets shut down cause some one dont like your rights....you lib folks..who allways comment on every gun thread..please keep your nose out of it.....remmeber the old saying..if you got nothing nice to say,keep it too your self?....but with the internet now days..people can just let loose with anyone knowing who they are,...makes it easy to be a jerk ....guess this is a rant:P but i think its a valid rant!!!!

ok..then why did the gun threads get shut down? it wasnt cause of folks arguing over what kinda gun they like..lol..it was shut down cause of anti lib gun haters..if you dont like it..dont say anything...its are rights to have guns...and untill i cant..i would like to talk to other gun people once and a while without a mile long fight over why we are so bad!!.. ..and i did not blame libs for everything....but i do blame them for flaming folks threads about guns and getting them shut down...can you argu that one?..lol

Your main problem with your argument was that you didn't blame HTC specifically for closing the threads, otherwise it'd have been a 5, perhaps a 6. Your other problem was the lack of blaming "limp-wristed liberals"

this is about gun threads..not any othere threads..its about gun threads pretty much.. who else is going to make a anti gun message on a thread about guns? a guy from the nra? a guy who likes going shooting? i dout it..most likely a liberal..and i wasnt saying just liberals cross the line{your reading too deep}..but they sure do when it coems to a gun thread

Hyena, You have to understand, if you post in an open forum, someone's gonna come up and start a debate about it.
What get's threads locked, You can ask Skuzzy or Pyro. They are the Forum Mods, they have reasons for what they do.

Why do conservatives have to make crude remarks in threads on gay marriage? Like I said before, there are "non-nice persons" on both sides of the aisle. It's rare to be able to have a conversation on anything controversial in here without bumping into a few from both sides.
I HIGHLY doubt the recent thread closings are because of isolated, current incidents. Maybe more like the straw that broke the camel's back.

Because if it's me, and thus you take my words as "fighting words," there's another nice lesson to be had in why so many threads end up getting locked :)

ya i know,..it broke my back too..i would of never made this thread..but i couldnt beleive a guys thread got shut down for talking about what kinda gun he was looking to buy...and it got turned into a small weenis thread...lol,..and then closed due to anti gun flaming..i know it wasnt closed cause of people who enjoy shooting or giving advice on what kinda firearm they were looking for.

again,,its a open board..open threads..but even in the guide lines..ask to be civil and have a little respect and try not to drive it off subject..i guess its too much to ask for? why do people who have no guns..and hate guns..comment on a thread about buying a gun or going shooting? i would say that is off topic..lol..its like if some guy on here were to post a thread that says....hey im cooking a steak.what kinda sauce do i use? and having a bunch of anti meat folks telling the person how bad he is for eating meat...lol

Sure the "anti gun" crowd jumps in on gun threads, but then "gun nuts" jump into other threads sayin that a gun woulda solved this or that issue beeing discussed in said thread without guns beeing a thread topic at all.
There are very few threads here that has more than one post in it that has stayed on topic for very long. Its just not the gun threads.
Oh and btw, im pretty sure more than a few of the gun threads have been started just to provoke a reply by the "anti gun nuts" even if it may not be apparent at first glance. Its called "bating" and works 99% of the time ;)

You know, I think my Pourbly was probably a Liberal Pourbly!
Perhaps, I postulate, that had it not been a Liberal Pourbly the wheels would probably have stayed attached to the portly spindles.
I will ponder the problem of the poorly designed Pourbly further.
Or not.
At any rate I will positively postulate powerfully before I ever purchase another Pourbly!

and yes it does go both ways...but i bet money..if some guy says..im cookin a steak.it wont get shut down cause of flamers..lol..but sence its guns..its all over soon as one person starts the name calling on a subject they dont even care about...should i go on threads about a car some one got and tell them its crap and they have a small wee?? no..i wouldnt..i think its rude to do so.

Like the bank fraud thread lay the responsibility where it should be. A troll can't close a thread. Only a moderator can. Thats just a fact. Trolls aren't closing threads - moderators are. You can't solve a problem by ignoring basic facts. Perhaps a better thread would be why is it harder to delete trolls than to close an entire thread? That would consider what is actually happening instead of some fantasy that trolls have so much power they can close threads. Thats just ludicrous. Ain't I right Skuzzy? HTC locks threads - not trolls? Just trying to stay factual here. Thats an HTC attribute, not a troll attribute?

It ain't HTC thats causing the closing of the threads, as you have said yourself.
It's the responses that get them shut down.
I think you'll find that HT ( and I might be wrong here) are acually pro gun.

the first comment i didnt say anything..figured it was a random joke..no biggie...second time i had to say somthing about it...im no post machine..i rarely do for all the years i been on here....but i do read them from time to time and comment on subjects i like to talk about. but when you wake up and see every interesting thread you was reading get shut down..kinda stinks somtimes..lol..specialy when its people who dont give a crap about what the thread starter was asking or talking about.

Just for the record, I average less than 5 a day. My problem is that each of those posts is about book length. Never was smart enough to figure out the process of "communication via alternating bumperstickers."
PS: The only thing, Grasshopper, preventing your ascendence to true coolness is your use of two periods when one will do. Ask yourself, what is the sound of one sentence ending? when you know this, then you will be the master.

GUNS: are not to blame for anything. You can not blame an inanimate object if it is misused and causes harm to others. You can only blame the perpetrator. Noone else. Used properly they keep you safe.
RELIGION: Is an individual thing, and the vast majority of Religions preach tolerance and forgiveness.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Is a personal thing also. If you are not responsible enough to hold yourself accountable for your own actions, misdeed, misstoughts, lack of education, or whatever you can affect in your life, then you are a social misfit deserving a swift kick in the head.
