Once again 880 will continue with their commit to revitalize the AvA by having their Squad night in the arena this Thursday night at 9pm EDT. If the mission is a go we will participate as best as we can. But either way we are hopeful for some good fights again like last week. Along with the good players, good attitude and good gamesmanship that made the fun possible

Diggit. I think I should be able to make it.
The end part, at least.

You know I'm all for this, getting squads back in the arena is what makes this place tick......but.....you know there's always a but.....one night a week where folks take the time to show up just ain't gonna keep people coming back. We might as well name it SEA2.
This arena needs folks who make it "The" place to be. Maybe I'm getting on too late, but couple weeks ago, I remember there being at least 10-20 people in there fighting. This week...it's dead, except for the mission night.
What gives??

I can never find anyone either. When they went back to BoB so quick, everyone left, then the terrain change borked the arena... And maybe the horde mentality has gotten such that people actually don't want fair fights...
I'll up and circle a base, for 15-30 minutes waiting for someone to login. A few login, see just 1 other player, and then leave. (I know, because I've done it too.)
I think for the next week I'll just stay in the AvA. Because honestly, if the AvA doesn't come back to life...I really have no reason to pay for this game. AvA is the reason I pay to play. Historical matchups are what get my blood flowing....not seeing who is the best at hoing in a N1K. I can fight mindless hordes in IL2:1946 all day long...for free.
Storch tried this a few months back, just lounging in the AvA waiting for targets...I guess it's my turn to stand watch.
Lets bring the AvA back to life!

Been doing this same thing all week, from about 10-10:30. SabreLover stopped by one night, but otherwise it's been pretty grim. I don't really have a plausible explanation.
After circling for half an hour, or shooting up ack or something like that, I've stopped into the MAs, usually EW, sometimes MW. I am plainly not used to the mind-set which prevails in those places. It will be difficult if it turns out that's what we're all condemned to.

Every great tree starts with a seed. Show up Thursday, keep the atmosphere light and maybe something will sprout. The AvA itself hasn't changed since it was the CT. Setups, maps, planesets, etc. are very much the same. It was the destruction of the environment/community that emptied it out.
880 is making a concerted effort to bring back that feeling of camaraderie, something we consider the most important aspect of this game. We have chosen Thursday night as our "seed" and hopefully those that show up will find the AvA a refreshing break and be interested in other nights. If the interest is there we will gladly introduce a second squad night.
I hope to see you all Thursday night and Happy Hunting! :aok
