In a week I'm heading down to see my friend graduate from Queens University in Charlotte.  This will probably be my last chance to go to NC for awhile (at least for free), and seeing as how she has a sense of humor, anyway, I figured I'd finally make good on something I've wanted to do for awhile.

Edit - *possibly* not work safe.  Kind of borderline leaning towards safe IMO.

the front of the shirt has the state of Connecticut on it.

Yeah, proclaiming to be a carpetbagger as a mission statement just might get ya shot in NC.

"Carpetbagger" is a traditionally derogatory term for a northerner in use since (I believe) Reconstruction.  It stems, basically, from northerners who would move down south with nothing but "what they could carry in a carpet bag" to do all sorts of obviously evil deeds, I suppose.

As for the double meaning, well, Gunslinger, I'd say if you don't get it, you're probably a gentleman :aok

I think you will only get a couple dirty looks and sneers with the carpet bagger shirt....However, if you were to wear anything derogotory against skynard...well.  The towns people would be the jury, judge and executioner on the spot! haha

There are plenty of shirts that can get you in trouble, that ain't one of them.

I understand the carpet bagger part but what does the whole "mission statement" thing mean?

I would say that just having that state on your shirt would be enough to get you mugged or raped tho.
