In the T-34, with engine running, I cannot hear the cannon fire of other tanks. Only the explosions or ground hits around me. I also am able to hear other tank engines around me with my motor running.
:)

Same with the Firefly. I hear only engines, tracks and shell impact sounds. Tried in the jeep as well, but I couldn't tell if I was hearing distant impacts, or the tankgun sound.

What distances are you talking about here? When you're right next to someone?

So far, haven't noticed any tankgun sounds at any ranges, with the engine running. Upped in TT last night right after I installed Patch2; while driving, I could see all the tanks around me firing, but was hearing only the shell impacts. Close enough to see the tanks firing, but no tankgun sounds.
edit: Okay, just upped an osti at A26, heard a friendly tank fire at 187yds.
I'd venture a guess that last night, I was seeing tanks at 800-1000. I'm guessing there's a rough distance at which external sounds should be inaudible in a tank. What is that distance? However, it seems that I'm hearing the impacts, even when they're as far away as the tanks firing.
Running a mix of custom sounds; would that have any effect Pyro?

I am also running custom sounds, Waffle's possibly?
A tiger got me last night in a T-34 and I could hear his shots. Just not the Panzer or T-34.
Seemed to be all distances.

Was in the Firefly, could hear 1 shot from a tank that was pretty close, probably within 300 yards. Few more, ranges of 500-800 (estimate), no gun, just the impact. Is this exactly how it's supposed to be? Have we got our tanggun sounds turned down too low ingame?
I think I'm also using Waffle's sounds for the GVs (I've got packs from Mitsu, Waffle, Fruda, stuff from Mig Alley, and misc others. No longer sure what's what though). The tiger gun sound I have is a beast of a report, while I use a different sound for the Panzer/Firefly/T34.
I'm going to pull those sound folders and see if there's any difference.
