Title: What is "ENY" ?
Post by: duddini on April 27, 2007, 08:31:27 AM
First, yes I have tried to search for what this means, but it tells me ENY is less than the minimum search value of 4 characters. I've been reading everything I can get hold of for tactics info, merge info, CAM, SA, etc, but this seems like a basic part of the game, and I'm clueless about it --> no surprise, I'm still in my 2 week free period :)

Thanks guys

I've seen it before too and I think it means Enemy, but not sure. I've also seen NME and Enema. Those two mean Enemy =]

Sorry, I meant the meaning in the column for planes. I'm sure it's some kind of value, as it differs for each plane, and I think it figures into the calculation for kill points somehow. Sorry I wasn't more specific.

ENY is a system put in place to help balance the arenas.

When one country begins to have overwhelming numbers ENY is imposed on them and only planes above a certain ENY value are available to them.  As numbers increase the severity of the ENY imposition increases also.

ENY is also used in determining perk point aquisition.  Flying planes with high ENY values and shooting down planes with low ENY values earns more per perk points than doing the opposite.

In short, ENY is an indication of a planes abilities within the arenas.  Lower values equal "easier" or "better" planes, higher values equal more difficult planes although many would argue with this.

Thanks for the explanation. It was short and to the point and easy for even a rookie like me to understand. I'll have to compare the value for the nikki I'm trying to fly to other planes in the MA, I'm curious to see which planes are considered "better".

Thanks again BaldEagl.

You can see the impact of ENY nicely on the various SPITS. I usually fly a Spit XVI albeit to a very average standard! When my side numbers are strong compared to other countries I usually end up having to fly the Spit IX

The difference between these two is not really that great, in fact some people prefer the IX except perhaps for the 303 MG's, so theres a hint at what BaldEagl was getting at!

As a means of appling some pressure to try and balance the sides, ENY is not a bad idea. The nature of the game makes it neigh on impossible to create a perfect balance, so from time to time you will experience other systems being tried out by the AH team. I think this is a very strong point with the game generally as it being continously developed. The systems applied sometimes work well for one type of player and not others. So be prepared for occassions when changes can work for and against you! The important thing is, the changes that perhaps don't work too well are either withdrawn or developed further overall I remained impressed with efforts being made even if some have nearly driven me insane. :noid

The mysteries of ENY and how they relate to perk points are revealed in the help file ( Link >> (http://www1.hitechcreations.com/frindex.html)). Check under the perk points section.

ummm, yes. :) ENY is an abbreviation for enemy, just as OBJ is an abbreviation for object. ENY is the relative value of planes and used in scoring and acquiring perk points. Enemy are people-driven things. Object is the relative value of a plane or vehicle to destroy objects, also used in scoring and acquiring perk points.

Side balancing uses ENY, but ENY is not side balancing.

Thanks Murdr, that link kept me from posting a new question on how landings vs. ditches effect your score (my answer was in the Death Multipliers section) . And I thought I had done a pretty good job of searching for this info myself........
