Title: Please correct F4U-1A fuel tank loading

The earlier corsairs have both center tanks and wing tanks. In the F4U-1, the center tank is loaded "first", so that the wing tanks only get fuel when the center tank is full -- which means that a 75% load out results in 100% load in center, and 25% in each of the wings.

UNfortunately, the F4U-1A had different treatment on introduction. For this plane, all tanks are filled proportionately, which makes a 75% load out show up as 75% in every tank.




This is a fairly big deal, since less mass in the wings helps roll rate considerably. Manging this manually by is a nagging annoyance, requiring frequent adjustments so the wings are burned first and so one side doesn't get out of balance during the process. The annoyance comes in with realization that other rides don't requre this degree of attention, and that the "fix" has already been programmed with the F4U-1; I'm no programmer, but could it be as simple as copying the fuel sequence from the -1 code and pasting into the -1A section?

(The embarrassment comes in with admission that I've stalled the engine many a time by forgetting to reactivate auto fuel management in a fight!)

Actually, I would like SOME gas in those wing tanks. I prefer to be able to have a backup in case my main fuel gets hit. Which it does.

See, this way if you take 50% you get some in your wing tanks AND your fuse tank. Old way, if you took 50% you had 80% main and 0% in wing tanks, or whatever.

I like having it in separate places, same reason I take 100% on P47s, because it gives me the aux tank (which I save in case my main gets hit).

I've always felt optional loadouts would be nice allowing you to set default tank levels.

LEAVE FUEL LOADING IN THE 1A ALONE!!! Just burn your wing tanks down (left, then right) on climb-out.

Well, that's what I do...but why does the idea bother you so much, Sax? And do you wish the F4U-1 had the F4U-1A's handling?

Actually I have no problem with the 1As handling. And I like having the reserve in the wings and the gas in the wings for climb and cruise to target, leaving the main fuel for combat. There's been at least a couple occasions where the wing tanks have saved my bellybutton after I've either forgotten to watch my main fuel and burned it dry or I've been perforated. 1/8 gas in each wing gives you about a sector or more at cruise.

I would prefer both the -1 and -1A variants have the ability to load the main tank with : 100%/75%/50%/25%  and the wing tanks have the ability to load: 100%/75%/50%/25%........

would be a nice feature.......also the other planes that have wing tanks and center/fuselage tanks have the same ability to do so.......

even better would be planes have the ability to load fuel in 10% increments......
10/20/30/40/50/60/70/80/90/100.........

in addition, it would be nice to have same fuel options available to the Drop Tanks, you know, some of them drop tanks are HUGE and carry a lot of fuel ( weight )........

at the very minimum though, please switch the F4U-1A's fuel load out option to match that of the F4U-1..........
