HAS anyone noticed that the RV-8 ISN'T a WWII plane????

Dude the RV-8 is modeled after HiTechs personal airplane. His game, his plane is in it. It was also used at last years covention for the "Evil Con Mission" armed with 2 20mm M61 Vulcan Cannons with 3000rds per cannon. Looked like a damn laser beam when you fired them. It was AWSOME!!!!!!!!!! 1 RV-8 could rip a town down in less than a minute. I wish we had the gun option offline or something. DA would be fun too.

Post by: Krusty on April 30, 2007, 10:22:24 PM: Hitech used the RV8 to compare to his real aircraft (which is an RV8). By coding the game engine, then seeing how it flies and behaves in comparison to the real thing, he's been able to get a fairly decent flight model running.

Most other game developers don't bother to do that.

The RV8 has been around a while, from what we were told. It was just hidden, a testing tool. So for that convention they stuck miniguns on it and released it for the convention-goers.

It is not a WW2 plane. Any time you see it enabled, it is a BUG, a problem with the default map setup.

It will never be enabled at any main arena unless HTC wants it to be. The odd fields you find it at are simply oversights in the checking of the maps.

I have flown it once in the MA, it was fun.. Kept a Spit busy for 20 min while the squad took a Vbase. Didn't get any proxys though :(

Use the .showrv command. If it's enabled, it will show up in the hanger.
