The only flightworthy DB 601-engined Bf 109 in the world (http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/WRRG/bf109-nx81562.html) will be flying at Planes of Fame on Saturday 9/1. There will be a seminar starting at 10 am, presumably with the pilot and crew. The museum will also be displaying their other German fighters, including an Me 262 and an He 162. Planes of Fame is located at the airport (CNO) in Chino, CA. Phone number is 909-597-3722. See ya there. :)

Been there many time, good place to visit.
Btw If its not un airshow then that 109 will not do anyhting. It will fly just like regular AC since its a active airport.
-
There will be a "flight demonstration". :)
-
WOW Awsome! I wish I could get down there.
On a side not, does anyone know what happend to the BF109f that had the real engine in england? Black six I think? Is it still flying?
-
"flight demonstration". Means that it will take off and land after few high alt cercles above your head.
I was very excited  to see B26 "flight demonstration". They start engines in front of you and taxi, (That was really great) then take off and fly traffic patern.
Like I said before, If their is a airshow, then its going to be a blast.

That's not "doing nothing." Even at their airshow, that's all they do with planes that are that rare. You only see aerobatics or really fast flying from planes that aren't so rare, Mustangs, Corsairs, etc. :)

Gtoraii
If you are talking about the Nort Africa 109F (Duxford?), I had read that it was involved in an accident. I don't know any details though and may be wrong. I have it as my current screensaver though, so it lives on at my desktop :)

Barring a natural disaster or brush fire blocking the freeway (which is sadly a possibility) I will be there to see the 109. I love that place.

I hope someone will take some pictures and post them for the rest of us non-californians. The E is my favorite!

yes the 109 (named "black 6")at Duxford was involved in a crash, but it is repairable I believe,I think it had extensive damage though, so it may be some time. :(

Black 6 is almost totally fixed by now, I recently saw a picture of it in the shop, the fuselage from firewall back is perfect again!!!!
