Title: Different Ordnance
Post by: CFYA on May 01, 2007, 09:22:37 AM
I KNOW this has been brought up before........I only bring it up again to keep it at the fore front of attention. I d love to incendiary, parachute retarded, THE GRAND SLAM!!!, skip bombs, THE GRAND SLAM!!!, and AP bombs. Seems like to me it wouldnt be to hard to code and add that much more to game play. Again I know its been brought up before but its my wish. Seems like you could just use force multipliers against different targets......incendiary vs town multiply by 1.5, incediary vs gvs/ships mulitply by .5 etc etc

Its my wish and I am stickin to it.  :)

Coming for your......

HT already said no bigger bombs then the 4k lanc bomb. Whenwe get the B25 theres a good chance we'll get perafrags to bomb the RW for vulches.:aok

AP bombs would be great for fleet bombers to take out CVs.

I agree we need AP bombs for CV killing, Grand Slam well id say yes too but i dont see the point if towns are the size they are one bomb would level a small airfield or a town, not to mention the whine war id see with HQs, other then that id like a variety in ord aswell. For that matter my wish is that and select how many of what type you carry aslong as you dont go past gross weight and must be the same type you select (Eg. b17 has 6,000lbs total weight in game so instead of 6x1000lbers youd have the option to take 4x500lbers along with 4x1000lbers but if you have AP you cant mix AP and HE together)

What I'd like to see is more accurate weights for bombs. The 500kg bomb is just a 1000lb bomb with a different image and/or label. It should weigh 1,100lbs and be just slightly stronger than a 1k bomb.

50kg bombs weigh 100lbs. They should weigh 110lbs.

Things like that. I'd like to see the bombs we have fine-tuned.

You are wrong.

In this game, they take a 1000lb bomb and rename it.

Try it! A couple of folks have noticed this. We have the E6B that tells us exact weight now. Take a 190, load up a 500kg bomb, sit on the runway. Check E6B. Drop bomb. Check E6B.

EDIT: I did some extensive testing a few months ago for various weights on different craft. This is when I noticed this bomb weight discrepency.

You actually need to try it. I did.

I'll try it when I get home. A few months ago somebody mentioned this to me on the forums, so I went and checked it, and found the same thing.

Did they change the weight since then?

Krusty,

I understood that they fixed that a long time ago.  You are thinking of AH1.

No, it wasn't that long ago, because we've only had the weight listed on the E6B for a short time.

Also, there's no way you'd know about it in AH1 because we've only had the ability to see it (on E6B) for a matter of months.

Sure looks like 1100lbs. I even did a test set the VH softness to 1100lbs.and it poped. THen mad eit 1200lbs. and it did.

Well, I remember it being listed as one of the fixes in v2.0.  Way before the E6B was added.

I think the person you were talking to was just repeating rumors, like the people who keep claiming bomber guns converge at the targeted fighter's range.

I seem to recall checking it myself, though... Oh well, that's that!
