We really have to come up with a silver Spit XIV to round the bare metal Spits off

There is this one but it's fictional;)

I've never seen a wartime Spit XIV silver though :(
I'll keep looking however

Thanks Dan.
In the meantime can you start a thread with all the info you have on that white Spit.
That way I can link to it in the skin info.txt.
ditto for the black Spit

I didn't think they used black on spits, because the gear was unsuitable for night landings, as compared to the other planes in service?
-
Yes they did (Mk V's), used to have a pic, just can't lay my hands on it at this time.
found it -

Ahhh... Would go well with the black hurris we have now, eh?

This one would look good Kev. Its called Channel Picket III, presumably a V-1 chaser.

What's the story on the broken paint job on the fin flash and roundel?
Is that just an effect the artist put on it, or did the plane look that way?
If so, why?

Hmm greebo i already posted that pic before in thread, didn't you see it?;)
Btw it is not a historical skin.

That was the idea Krusty. Used for night intruder stuff etc.
Will get the white Spit IX info going too.

No, I must have missed that thread. I came across that profile somewhere while researching Spits last year. As I couldn't find any other info on it, I never took it any further.
