Title: Formations?
Post by: RATTFINK on May 03, 2007, 02:52:20 PM
Do you know of a resource (web, book, video etc.) that shows how to perform formations in fighters?  Just something I would like to work on in our squad.

I found this link. (http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_013a.html)

My squad sometimes fly in formation.  A lot of them have pretty nice control rigs.  I don't currently have that luxury and have some trouble holding a tight formation.

Shaw's "Fighter Combat" book. #1 resource imo for a2a tactics.

Or there is 'In Pursuit' available free in PDF format.

Wingman tactics start on page 123.

Check out the 113th Lucky Strikes, all we do is fly formation P38 only thank you.  Come fly with us on any Saturday Evening Knights, late War.  Vox 113.  We'ed be happy to assign you to a wing and have you fly a slot.

Not that easy to do, but once you get the hang of it, very enjoyable and becomes second nature.

http://www.113thluckystrikes.com  check out the films on the public part of the website, may see some formations stuff there.
