FILM LINK (http://www.freeroleentertainment.com/vertical_overshoot.ahf)
this is two films stuck together, showing a method of overshoot kill that i find exetremely effective in a melee or furball environment.
This manouver i would best describe as a vertical overshoot, and relies just as much on the 'bait' and preparation as it does on the actual manouver and gunnery.
on both manouvers the time when the most speed is dumped is at the top of the half loop as we roll back to level, and clearly it takes both candidates off gaurd in thier spit16 and p51 respectively.
The most important thing to take away from this for me would be the plane choices, we find ourselves in two almost polar opposite aircraft in terms of intended fighting style. It truly is not the plane you fly but how you fly it.
second most important is for those who get caught by this type of manouver, in both these match-ups, the enemy should very well be sitting in the tower and kicking themsevles hard.
S! all, hope this helps.

very very sweet....
you need to work with me on that one...I cant keep them that tight and bleed that amount of E....and not get shot:)
-
Sweet. I've been getting better at this lately. Mostly by useing few planes and sticking to them. I'm sure I can transfer the reflexes to others as I progress.
Right now it's about 1:3 on getting a kill/crippleing shot. The overshoot's not a problem. It's gunnery when slower than usual. Still using the CT and SL chrutches.
But even when they nose down and zoom away they often return and try again. They slow down to try and follow the move. It's a trip when you've shown them what you're going to do to them and they strole right into it anyway.
-
very nice Bat. I use the same moves as well in my 38. Still havent perfected them yet, but when they do work.... whats the word you used??? "Beuaty"?
:aok
just messin with ya

RSLQK186,
you really should start ASAP learning to fly your plane with SL ( Stall Limiter ) turned off ( disabled ).. you have no idea how much you are hampering yourself by using this.........you are immediately putting yourself at a disadvantage in every fight you get into using SL..........

TC, you can call me Hack. The BB handle is because I read and flew offline for 3 months before I started paying. Then I waited 2 more years before joining a squad or taking advice from strangers. WHAT A BONE HEAD!
But after more than 5 years I'd say it was time also. Been working on it off and on. I have trouble getting used to tork and rudder playing a bigger part in it all. I could probably snap stall a goon.

sorry bout that spatula, i really dont know how to help.

Something else your films show is IF you do overshoot...Turn away from his guns:eek:
I saw several instances where the attacker simply wandered right back into your guns. :rofl
Makes it a lot easier huh?

like a moth to the flame, amazing hoow often it happens :)
to be fair not many people expect a 262 to pull a 100mph manouver.
-

skill? that's not my thing and you know it...I rely on pure bad luck!
-
90% of skill is luck mixed with grasping the chance on offer. plus i rekon only 50% of the luck in a 1 on 1 fight is in your hands. bit like driving a car, no matter how safe you drive you can never be 100% of the equation when sharing the road with others. in which case i'd say youre on the right track lagger
