OK.....I'm gonna say it once and for all......If I get Kicked out of here so be it......
The arena split was iniciated because 4 cheap servers fit HT's wallet better than the huge server he had that could handle all of us......since then he has saved up enough money to boost the graphics in each arena.....he thinks this is what we want......lol....the larger maps cannot be supported with the higher graphics on these cheap servers so we have to endure this crappy map rotation until his wallet is fat enough to upgrade to what we want..........I hope......or mabye he will just keep Preying on the Noobs....taking their money since they Know no better.
I think that the arena split is fine....but the servers should be able to handle all players in one arena.....ENY is out of control late at night when the numbers are small, 25 20 10 players and high country has 20 ENY????????what is that........plus the maps are all played out.....If the server can't support a large map....get a better one. We all have to cut our graphics in here unless we are playin with a $10,000 alienware computer...use server strength to support more people and bigger maps.
just want to ad a footnote here.....ENY needs improvment...players stagnant in the tower for some time shouldn't matter.....tanks and planes should have seperate calculations too.

You have problems with fps in Ah?
I have a radeon 9200 (5 year old), 1800 mhz athlon, and have 30-60 fps at all time on mid settings.And that is with 1024 texture size and 1280x1024 res.
HT didn't do it because of servers, servers they use can support over 1000 players i heard.HE did it because game was going in the wrong way.
IMO that is...

i wasent here when everyone could play on one server but I REALLY HATE THIS ENY CRAP last night couldnt even up a p38j(eny val of 20)

A larger map does not increase load on a graphic card.

I agree that ENY needs a bit a tweaking, but mostly I am pleased at the new changes. My box, though I did build it myself, cost me about 800$(monitor not included), and I have broken 300fps reported with ctrl+i. Though I do miss some of the older and larger maps, this is outshadowed by the greatly increased 1vs1 fights I am getting, addition of the P47N, Spit8/16(though I haven't gotten a handle on them at all), and the increase in base ack.
Overall I must say that all in all I think HTC is doing a good job working with what they have. At least now I can find a non-horde, non-vulch fight with relative ease.
But on the subject of ENY, as stated before, I do agree.

And to the server, graphics is irrelvant too. The only place where graphics matter is on the client's side. The server does not generate any images.
And large or small map, the distance I can see (and my card has to render) is always the same.

You realize that the point of limiting a country to certain (lesser) planes is to promote switching sides - or at least mitigating the stampede effect of one country having a huge number advantage?

Having just returned to the game after a short break Im excited by the changes,my fps have never been better and it plays as smooth as a ewes bottom :aok (when sheared of course) not too fond of ENY,maybe balance sides by forcing squadless players to play for the side with less numbers,would promote squads lol,I dont have a great pc either,just get shot down too much....sigh:cry

Being restricted to 20 or even 25 ENY shouldn't cause a decent stick any troubles.
That still leaves you with all (or almost all?) of the 109s... early 190s (the 190A8 is absolutely vicious in decent hands) and that's just Luftwaffe aircraft.
As was stated above, if it's that much of a problem....switch countries. Otherwise, grab a Gustav and get some kills.

Yes, your theory demonstrates this is true.
Clue: all the graphics in the game reside on your own "front end" and are processed by your own computer. The server doesn't process any graphic detail at all.

Still only 2 servers just like before.
HT didn't split the diff. areans into 4 servers. Not sure what gave you that idea, but it's still 2 servers just as always.
And to beat a dead horse, graphics and map size are client side, not server side.
The whole premise of this thread is silly.
HT changed to multi arenas to help promote a style of gameplay that HTC want's to encourage.
Sick of Eny? Fly a diff plane or change sides/arenas.
Simple as that.
I do somewhat agree that squads have been hit, but I think the greatest impact was on the huuuuuge multi-wing squads which was one of the things HTC was trying to "fix" with the arena changes.

Pieper, just a friendly advice: you better check the details when you make an accusation. An unbased (false actually) accusation is just a whine highlighting an underlying stupidity.
The game after the split is far better. I was on the verge of quitting and I have no such thoughts now. My only complaint is that mid-war is not populated enough, but that is a complaint for the players, not HTC.

if ENY limiter pisses you off it means that it's working. No point in ENY limiter that is ignored by all.

lol. don't know what else to say. don't agree with anything you said, I think most, if not all, of the claims you make are incorrect. maybe your just trying to make friends?
Also when you say many, how many. 1000, 2000, 5000. Also how do you know it is many? What is many to some, may only be a little to others.

Sorry mate but you have it wrong about servers. Arena split was due to "slum" play and the fact that HTC couldn't increase the player base i.e revenue.
Can't say I like the split LW arenas and would very much prefer one LW arena but I don't run the business I just use the service.
OK..Eny can be a pisser off peak with low numbers in an arena perhaps that could be looked at.....somehow ?
On the plus side they have made a fine job of the new terrain plus new and upcoming add ins.

Yayyyyyyy , an eny and arena split whine...... how novel.
Now if peeper would have just added ho and ram whine. He could have achieved a higher whine score.
However he scored points on claiming why the split was done. Even though he has no clue how online games work.

Pieper I don't recall ever seeing you in any of the arenas. You do seem to show up in a number of locked BBS threads.
We get that you don't like the multiple arenas or the ENY.
