A.k.a those who don't have a full time job.

ballance
2 nights a week. Sunday night squad nights, and tuesday nights training. This keeps the burnout factor away.Other nights we race (NR2003) and play Red Orchestra Ost Front, or any of the other games we have listed on our site. this way evreything you do always seems fresh, and your not "hooked" on one thing in the event RL kicks in and you cant play for a bit.
-
95:37:10hours in the MA and 06:27:02 in the AvA last month in only two weeks of play. I just reopened my accout around the 14th of April. Its that a bad thing being addicted to AH?
-
Addicted and love it, girlfriend ack hates it. :aok
-
Been an addict for 3 years. I don't play as much as I used to, but this is the only game I do play on the PC.
-
Ya its the only game I play too. Hey thudregg is that pic in your avatar Shaun from The Shield last week? :P
-
Pic is one of Jim Carey's characters off of In Living Color. I forget which one this is. I always did get a kick out of Fire Marshall Bill, though.:aok
-
LoL...How bout 15 days worth of AH in one month, does that count?
I did 344 hours tour 71. LOL
Lack of academic and economic responsibilities played a big part in this:)

Yup, I'm hooked.

Evidently my son (12) years old says I play this game way to much. He said he wants to take a ball bat to the computer so I can't play anymore. Think I'm gonna cool it on here.
Never thought I played that much? Thats pretty messed up where your own kid gives ya shat.

I used to be addicted flight simulators, considering my long career, flying them.
I started with air warrior in 1996 and flew with a compuserv account until 1998.
From there, via a signed up, warbirds flew warbirds from 1998 to about mid-2000. From there I flew in aces high, from late 2001 still early 2007 (late January).
I was cured of my addiction due to the fact that I was chased out by a very very vocal minority that did not like me and engaged in highly organized campaign of character assassination of me, within the community, as well as badgering and other hateful harassments which caused me to losse my temper and self-control and prompted the management of Aces high to decide in favor of the dollar bill vers what was right. Which in this case was to overreact, and to permanently mute by voice on the game forcing me to leave. I doubt very much that those other bad actors were ever even in trouble. But be that as it may.
I thank those who stuck up for me like Nomde of the 56th and TC of the Dammned, I them for that in spite of the withering criticism they received.
Finally, I thank Aces High, for curing me of my addiction.

I just checked my arm and right in between my forearm and bisep there are little black and purple marks from my usb cable...does that mean Im addicted?
-
Geeez.....whats worse, being addicted to a game, or....
Being addicted to a game, getting thrown off the game cause yer an idiot, then getting addicted to whining about it in the BBS?

The best way to cure the addiction is to have two little kids in your family within 4 years. Then you just walk away from flying online almost with no help. Yes I still have the BBS account and still have the games installed on the computer BUT I have only done a single sortie this entire year. Now I am too involved in my oldest sons sports (he is 10 1/2) and in helping around the house with the 4 y/o and the 8 week old little one.

I can quit at any time
;)

Kids have to sleep. I've got a 2 and 4 year old with an 8pm bed time. That still allows me to get 30 hours a month in. The cure is newborns which it looks like I might have a problem with in the near future.

It's more like disappointment...
The actual game was rather fun and I enjoyed it and to say that I didn't would be a lie.
What got me in trouble was the evolution, in the culture which from air warrior to what now exists in aces high to which can now be collectively described as " group think" and "thought crime".
That about as simple as a reason why I was push out.
-
MEEEEE! I'm also gonna get my relatives in Canada addicted to this game as well, this is THE BEST game out ther IMHO.
-
This is the best video game I've ever played, bar none. The addition of GV and even sea battles with PT boats and guns makes this one heckuva game. Something for everybody.
-
AH2 is addicting but ive found another game i like to call HALO2 on Xbox Live...WOOT killing 9 year olds then here them WHINE is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p
-
ADDICTION!!!.....Lets just say I started Aces High when it was in beta (1999 or 2000). There was no scoring system. HiTech and Skuzzy flew with us regularly. Game was amazing to most of us. Eye candy was awesome.

LOL...lets just say I've known the folks at HTC a long time and trust their judgement a helluva lot better than yours :)

only in a forum filled with hundreds of men could a question of who's addicted turn into one-up-man-ship & name calling.
-
I am not an addict one, I can leave it in any moment I want (5 times until now) ;)
-
Only thing that can get Me away from a 109 sorty is My Girl laying on my bed Face down naked with her legs open :D :D  :p
-
Ya, TexasMom, you got a point there :)
My question is, if he's been banned from the game for so long, why does he feel the need to keep hanging around here?
How long have you been out, anyways Chi?
-
i dont usually get to play as much as I would like.. but when I do, I start to get angry at anyone who shoots me down... then its time to back off a few days.
after a couple of days off i suck so bad i expect to be shot down again..rinse repeat
how long of a break does it take you guys to really loose the edge
also it seems like the hydrocodone kinda mucks up my reaction time and SA
-
Should start a thread about "other things you could do for 14.95 per month". With what could I be doing with those lost hours this is hardly a vice.
(Still have wife and four kids after 2 years of playing)

Wondered where you went to. Don't know particulars of the specific incident that got you booted. But get a clue. In the greater scheme of things, over time, you brought it on your own self.
Nobody liked your mouth. Nobody liked the way you enjoyed griefing people. Nobody particularly liked you at all. Not even your own countrymen and supposed friends. You should have heard some of the things they'd come over to bishland and say about you. LOL
Now, I liked you cause you were an easy kill, GV or aircraft. And I sure do miss that.
But for your own good, learn something from this or you will always be the loser we used to know and love to kill.
Ya'll come back now, ya here!
-
I can quit any time I want. I then immediately come back like a bad rash.Hmmm.
-SR-.:noid

IM AN ADDICTIONALUCT(cant spell) hehe :D :D :D :D :D :D

NO you don't know the particulars and should not persume to know.
"No body liked me"... I guess you speak for the entire AH community, yes?
I happend to had friends, and all of them were appalled by the the lack of class the commuinty had shown in this. But, I should presume you speak for all. You are it's offical spoke's men of the AH social commettee.
"You were ez to kill", so you say, considering I shot you down more times then I could remember. And most time you got me, it was due to the fact you had help.
Also, I left, not kicked out. I left cuz I had enough and it was time to go back to REAL LIFE and leave behind foolish people and foolish things.
Lastly, I learned something, I learned that AH's community has turned mean and have little in common with the community of AW back so long ago.
I'm glad to be not part of it anymore, if you comments are true.
I'm glad I no longer waste my time on this "GAME".

*stands up*
Hello, my name is FBmensa. I have been in AHA for 3 years now and it has helped some with the....problem. I still frequently play, and doubt I will ever stop.
*sits down*
In all seriousness I am very addicted to this game, and not sure what I would do without it. I had always been craving to re-enact WWII dogfights or try to relive that era of history since I heard about it. I can't remember when I first got hooked, but I was around 8 and saw something on T.V. about WWII, I then just took in all the info I could about it and when I could read some books, which I can't remember any except for "The Rise and fall of The Third Reich" and an entire series about the theaters of the war. Then I saw this commercial, and thought it was too good to be true. Now I'm 14 (not an annoying squeaker) and still playin'.
:aok
-
I managed to quit for 6 months once... And yet here I am :)
-
I cant believe some people have the time to fly 30-40 hrs plus a week.
I love the game but cant fathom doing 6 hours a day, every day. Thats a full time job!
I couldnt juggle work, family, sleep, ect and play that much.....
Its amazing.
Oh BTW I am also addicted:) But to the tune of 6-10 hrs a week:)
-
I can't stand this stoopid game, I can quit anytime...................... ............................. ..............No really I can.......................... .........:noid
