Of the 109s to fly, which is the best? i know that there is a different plane for each style of pilot. I'm looking for the best turn fighter, with a good climb rate.

I like the 109F4. Good climb rate, decent speed and it turns pretty well. The G2 and G6 are good solid performers as well.

between 109F, 109G-2, and 109G-6...
109F is the best imo
109G-2 is a 109F with slightly more powerful engine.
109G-6 has draggier airframe.
109G-14 is like the spit 16
109K-4 is like the spit 14

Bf-109 G-14 like the spixteen?!? Er, ive never felt the similarities...
Personally, on the deck, I take the Bf-109 G-14, but as soon as you start fighting at 12,000 or above, I take the Bf-109 G-6. I actually find the Bf-109 G-6 to be the most maneuverable of them all, to the point where the only reason I ever take the Bf-109 G-14 at all is that mk 108.

I like the K4 the best. Its fast and has the tater gun.

109F and G-2 toss up F is the turner and burner while G-2 is the better of the two in the vert but a little worse in the turn and burn.

F-4 turns a little tighter, G-2 is a lot faster and climbs a lot better. That engine is really nice at times.
So, depends if you REALLY need that last little bit of turning. Overall I say the G-2 is better. If you can't out-turn something in a G2, you really won't out-turn it in a F4, and it's time to start using the vertical -- which is where that nice powerful engine comes into play.

I like the G-14 and the G-6 too, but I've taken to loading them with gondolas. They're great for buff-hunting.
Having those 400 cannon rounds really helps in those 'sea of red' situations.

I have the most fun flying 109-F4's.
I think 109-K4's are better for survivability, though.

109G-2 is my absolute favorite.
I always fly that bird.

K4 (and no, its not like the Spit14)
K4 is for the manly man, and Spit14 is for the girly girl.
The 30mm really teaches you to aim properly and in _theory_ should give you 65 fighterkills on a single loadout :cool:

Most of the time I get about 4-6 kills in a K4 depends if they are warpy or stick sturers.

F4 and G2 are the best turn fighters in that order but they are close. Either one will turn with a Spit (except maybe a V).
K4 is really a bnz plane with some turning ability.

If you're not going into the thickest of furballs, any like to turn fight, try the E-4. It turns fairly well compared to most planes built after 1940, but it lacks engine power (and firepower).
I suggest you move to the E-4 after practicing aiming, shooting short bursts, and once you think you're ready. Whenever that point is, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Heh. The nice thing about this thread is to see that every one of the 109s is loved by someone.
If I were in the late war MA, and had no scruples or was tired of spits and la7s, I'd take the K4, of course, which I think is clearly the best of the 109s when flown to its strengths. I think the G-14 is more fun because it's a better turner and has the tater gun - closest thing to our old G6 that there is.
The Emil and Friedrich are the best dogfighters. For some reason I've never developed an affinity for the F, but most people swear by it.
My favorite is still the G6, but that's just because I've had to fly it so much.

If they gave the G6 a 200 round option for the main gun (which some of us have been asking for, for many years now) I'd fly it more also!

Thats the thing. It DOESNT have a retractable wheel. At least not in the game. Take off in the TA. Go to external and watch yer arse. That little wheel is bouncing up and down behind you...
And, I like the cowling of the G-6/G-14s.

Nostalgia-wise, the 109E-4/E-7 (pointed spinner = sexy!) is the best. Also had the best camouflage schemes and variety!
What I flyin AH: All of them. Not so much the G-6 anymore. K-4 for chasing, G-14 for gun options, F-4 and G-2 for turnfighting (now that we have a lot of skins for both it's even better!)
I've flown the Emil in the MAs enough, but don't do it too often anymore. It just gets gangbanged by 7+ every time I go out. I had some good 1v1 and 1v2, and maybe I can even handle a 1v3, but when you're low dodging enemies, you can't run, can't turn, can't go vertical, can't dive (too low), 7 enemy are going to tear you a new one.

Taking the fight to a timid cherry picker (one that attacks only when the target is otherwise engaged, busy, unable to turn away, basically he can't fight back) is not cherry picking, in my book. Taking the fight to them simply forces them to engage an enemy that's capable and in a position to fight back. Often, cherry pickers run when confronted with a target like this.

Hi,
lately i took a 109G6/R6 and i was suprised about its possibilitys.
If you know to fly in a defencive, you can suprise many people by its ability to evade a attack and to get a snapshot kill after the enemy did overshoot or underestimated your turn ability.
The gunpods G6 seems to make a better controllable and faster stallturn on the op of a upzoom.
The 3 x 20mm + 2 x 13mm kill alsmost as fast as the 4 x 20mm of the HurriIIc and the E-management is also rather good with the gunpods. :aok
Who is able to fight in the 190A also should try the G6 + gunpods!!

Maybe that's a TA bug because the rear-wheel does retract in the MA.

The best 109 depends on your mission...
If you want to furball, take the F4 or the G2.
If you are intercepting buffs, take the K4 and the big tater gun, or take the G14 with the gondolas.
The E and the G6 I'll leave in the hanger.

Little brats like you who cannot respect anything but their "Ub3R Spitty" and "Pony" are what bring this game down. The Bf-109 was an outstanding aircraft, and continues to excell in this game. So before you go spewing crap about my lovely bird I suggest you take it for a flight or at least read up on it some. Otherwise, bite your tongue, lest I be forced to liberate it from your mouth.
