Its been awhile since I did a mini event but Ive been thinking of this for a long time. Read it over, and see if you think it would be a cool thing to try.
MGD and I have worked on this together. No date yet, but it will be very soon. I just want it to have some time to season to see what the interest level is. Once we feel enough know about it, we will run it.
Just to clarify..at the start of the event, everyone may up in a jet. If you die, you must wait till the next launch window time, and up in your sides secondary plane. If you die again, you must wait for the third ride window.
If you land a jet, it is lost. If you elected to fly a 234 or il2 at the start, you lose your jet fighter option and will fly the secondary ride at the next window, or reup in an il2 or 234, or tank. Primary focus is jet combat, with a ground objective in the mix. Whoever owns A3 at the end wins the frame.

As one of those geek Old Timers who actively flew the Korean Arena in Air Warrior, I miss the "old" days of taking on Corsairs and F86's in my MiG.
As for the SE...Count me definitely in.
I think that HTC might still want to look into a Korean Arena since the programming wouldn't be THAT much of a stretch, and the Allies used many WWII holdover aircraft.

Blah, 262 in no way reflects the nimble F86 or Mig15. It's a slow, sluggish, PIG of a plane, accelerates like a snail, maunvers like a MACK truck at a F1 race, and the gun ballistics are horribly horribly pathetic. Even the high-caliber Soviet weapons during WW2 were far far better than the german 30mms. After the war I don't imagine they'd get worse. The F86 would have 50cal "reach out and touch someone" capability.
I just don't think it can compare.
We really need more planes in this game! Maybe a Meteor Mk.III would sub better? Anyways, anything that focuses the 262 as a primary superiority fighter turns me off. :(

I agree Id like more planes but we have what we have. Its not like we are pitting a 262 against a mig15. It will be an even matchup. Ive had some great 262 on 262 fights in here.

Filth, If there is any possible way I can be in this I will definately be there! Please God let my Nowotny 262 be in-game by then.
Not sure of the arena layout. However, if you are making custom skins for the opposing sides for the 262's, I volunteer to make as many as you want. Templates ready. :aok

Something like this was ran in the old CT a few years back. Alot of griping on the BBS about accuracy yet everyone had a blast. Looks cool, I hope I can be there.:aok
