Frame 1 seems to have been an interesting frame. Unfortunately the IJN were a bit outnumbered in the frame (114 vs 128) and this seem to have impacted there battle plans a bit.
As for results the IJN were more successful hitting their targets. They sank 2 CVs and 1 DD and significant damage to A12 (71%). This results into Lae switching to IJN hands and a successful invasion of New Guinea by Japanese forces.
Allied forces weren't as successful hitting their targets. They only bagged 1 CV, did 31% damage to P8, and and 68% damage to A13.
The air war is where the Allies really did some damage and made up for things though. The allies shot down 110 planes to the Axis shooting down 57 planes.
Final score is 1759 Allies to 1616 IJN/IJA. Allies take the frame by 143 points.
Allies
358 = Allied Attack
506 = Allied Defense
895 = Air to Air
1759 = Allied Total
IJN/IJA
586 = Axis Attack
625 = Axis Defense
405 = Air to Air
1616 = IJN / IJA Total

GD,
I was part of the IJN attack that sank one CV and one Cruiser (we did not sink any DD). Does it matter as far as the score goes? (I know it was a Cruiser that got sunk, not a Destroyer, because they were my bombs doing the sinking).
-
Good question. To avoid confusion, Trash, are you talking about the big-gunned lead ship in the fleet formation, or one of the side escorts?
-
My mistake yes, the CA was sunk .. I have the correct point totals just wrote down DD instead of cruiser in writing up my notes for here.
-
Ah, okay then.
-
Cool, thx GD. *S*
Krusty, yes, the other big ship that is not a CV (that has three 3-gun turrets just like an Escort Cruiser would have (useful for bombarding shore positions)).

I think its a 1:2 scale 'ship'. He showed me in Op. Downfall, but its been a while, and memories that small normally fade out of my mind quite quickly. :lol
