Well, Scherf had a idea too.

I think the Bump is due to MK 103.

Thats what I though too (U1 variant), but they are actually camera bulges of U3.

lol...

or were you serious?
The aircraft were stored above deck because the decks below were full: stored with aircraft.

Here's the link to where I found the post.

EDIT: Darn, I can't copy/paste the link??
I'll post it as soon as I get an other comp...

IS it real?
Because the 262's look a bit off, like computer made.
or something.

pictures to small for me to tell at any rate.
but most planes that would be put on deck are flight ready, and wouldnt be on there for say "a trip from europe to the states"

At least with my logic i would not sit high tech "new age ubber tech" out on the flight deck to have a storm hit and jack my plan's all up.
but thats just me :)

The same photo is in the 4 volume series bfrom Classic Pub by Smith & Creek.

Some a/c that can be seen besides the 262s are a Ta152H-1, Fw190D-9, 2 Do335A-0s and a He219.

Another photo has 3 262s and a Fw190D-9 on a Rhino barge being towed out to for loading on HMS Reaper.

The recon 262 was given number FE-4012 and later T2-4012. Last heard of being on display at the Planes of Fame Museum

Germany didnt have carrers in WW2 only U.S, U.K, and japan had them. All capured planes were cacooned to protect them from the saltwater.

I agree. The picture LOOKS fake. But I know Me-262s were shipped to the U.S. on the decks of ships. Ive seen the original footage to prove it.

They do look photo-shopped. The way the light reflects off them does not look consistant with what you would expect.

I thought it was an elaborate photoshop hoax.

+1 :aok  That is the page with the photos I mentioned.

You know Dan with the I-net, people don't know what a book is any more. ;)

These RCAF F-86s must be fake as well,

Now if you want to see a bogus photo, look at this site where the Me262 is claimed to be on display in Japan. Problem is the photo is taken in Washington DC in Aug 1946.

The funny thing is: The inscription on the plane is written in typical american "wrong german" - It should read "Die Schwalbe". :p

(And while being at it, in German it's "Die Muppets" not "Das Muppets"... )
