Then there's that whole nose-down-so-hard-that-your-skull-would-be-mush-on-the-top-of-the-canopy-and-the-wings-would-fold-like paper exploit that Ghi and others are happy to exploit.

...as opposed to the "crank the stick in all directions fast so my airplane warps" bug, or the "drop troops next to an airfield and keep the ack busy" bug, or the "diving heavy bomber" bug, or the "hide your tank in an indestructible object" bug, or the myriad other things that would never work outside a simulator?

Pulling extreme positive Gs in an Il2 seems pretty trivial in comparison.

It would be interesting for one of the resident statisticians to see how many IL2s he flew during the period they were bugged, and how many he has flewn since bug has been fixxed. I think he is a talented virtual pilot, It's just shamefull that isnt enough-

If you can't kill an Il2, I wouldn't bother about complaining about exploits.

Ghi is good to work with and I see him land kills in Il2s more often than anything else.

1. Why are you attempting to take off from a capped field, and even more to the point, why do you get upset when you die trying to take off from a capped field?

2. Why would someone capping a field want to slow down to takeoff speed?

Losers... so Ghi is a cheat because he uses it while there is an engine bug and he pulls neg G moves.

Some of you need to stop worrying about other people so much and concentrate on your own levels of flying.

Never called him a "cheat".   But, the IL2's sure as hell dropped like a sack of watermelon after the bug was fixed.

Most have already told me I suck in game, so I guess that makes it gospel.:noid

He can do the Neg-G move all he wants, when another con gets to his alt (of which he is picking at), he dives and runs.   Takes a lot of skill to do that.

The score page shows in April's tour, Ghi had 183 of 925 kills in and 60 of 220 deaths in an IL2.  Clearly he has abandoned the plane after the bug was fixed.

And, I'm sorry, I didn't realize the bug was the only possible reason anyone ever flew the IL2.  I thought it was because it is the best cap/vulch buster in the game, especially when fighter hangers are down.  But now I know better.  I stand corrected.

Oops, almost forgot this =====>

Some fly to live, others fly to die.  Because he doesn't fly your way doesn't mean he's some kind of tard.  Engagement tactics is just another facet.

This thread isn't about Ghi, it's about style under a different name.  It belongs in the same garbage pile.

Hahah, what a joke of a thing to say.

So I fly with a squad that has a few other Aussies on when I play...?

I'm curious, what does that tell you?

What? All I fly is a 190 and just cherry-pick? Wrong.

If you think that flying with a group of people who are consistantly on when you play is.... whatever you think... try thinking again.

I'm also not posting "threads about diving on a field with 10 flaks on it" either.   I'm sorry, but when you have a 1 on 1 (and I mean a 1 on 1) and you run, come on!  :rofl    I don't "promote" myself in here or in game like most do Puck.

As for this "Some fly to live, others fly to die".   This is a game, if you're afraid to go 1 on 1 with a co-alt, you should be canceling your account.   Maybe I lose, maybe I win, who knows, but at least I'm WANTING TO DOGFIGHT in a cartoon airplane.    But then again, I don't need to "protect my score".

LTARget, yes, most of the times I encountered ghi, he was in an IL2.   When the bug was fixed he went back to the 262, 163 and 109 (and La7 some of the time).

You guys have embarrassed yourselves enough on 200, no need to open this Pandora's box for all of the BBS community to see.

Good deflections on the "190 and cherry pick".   I thank you for putting words I never said into your post.    You really think we were whining about "not being able to vulch"?

As for this: "If you think that flying with a group of people who are consistantly on when you play is.... whatever you think... try thinking again."    I've been playing this game for over 5 years.   I think, I say, and I mean what I say.   I don't "put words" in other people's mouths, I don't lie, I don't exaggerate, but I am brutally honest.    Keep yer chin up, I'm glad the Raw Prawns (australian squad) don't act like you, btw, keep whining via PM.  I enjoy the screenshots other's post.

Don't worry about Karaya, worry about yourselves.

Karaya, your generalisations are quite extensive.

I'm almost certain you will never see a screenie of my whining to anyone via PM.

Only time I PM is to compliment someone on a good fight.

Only once used it in a negative way and that was after too many beers and being landing vulched. I've done it too, though, so I got over it and that was that.

I happen to fly with the Raw Prawns from time to time also and yes, they're good guys.

All I'm saying is that you should watch how you generalise, it's a sign of ignorance.

Anton,Karaya, Steve!

i'm not expecting to be eficient for one team and loved by enemies,

about IL2,

i've been upping it on bases with FHs down and HO vulchers, long time ago, we used to call it "IL2s HOing party", sure i'm getting vulched a lot, but that's my problem , if i find it fun

and most of the players don't undestand  eficiency of the:

--2x23mm  super deadly cannons killing at 1k, with lot of amo
--fire cannon only, like other planes with 2 diferent trajectory guns,
--good turn rate with flaps and 25% fuel,
-- takes lot of punishment,

...and  what makes it super deadly is ..
--outside view in F3 mode!

Most of the players just pull , never push the stick forward, and negative Gs, combined with cutting power, outside view for perfect timing, is something what most of the fast moving planes in my 6, don't expect, or slow down too much overhoot, and i kill them from behind, and works in most of the fighters, not in il2 only,

i feel like ussing game's feature, not ceating or exploiting game's bugs,

I'm not generalizing.   I also haven't been "putting words that you haven't said" in your posts.    Before you call "ignorance" it is best to step back, realize who said what, says what, and then think it over.

I've never seen you Rook, as the Raw Prawns are a Rook squad, and Hugo9, RT, FTJR are good friends.

You must be the only person in your squad that DOES NOT PM when shot down.   Because no less than 8 of your "generalizations" have done it.    Move along now.

Ghi, that IL2 had a bug for about 3 tours.   The use of it has dwindled something fierce.

The thing I do now when defending a field is to shoot down the Early war rides that are there in the whorde to perk farm.

Never have spent alot of time here in the forums, but when I see people attacking a fellow countryman that is just wrong. Everyone's flying style is different. ACM...better to salvage yourself and aircraft than push a bad position. When I dogfight with a co-alt and I feel that I am being outflown, and the plane my opposition is flying is forcing me into a no win situation you can bet your biscuits and gravy I am diving to the deck and gettng out of the engagement. To me its called common sense. If you can't catch me to kill me oh well, get me another day.

Ghi is a very good stick and have had the pleasure of flying with him in missions he does. He is very aware of map situations and does missions to help win the darn map. Sounds like people are crying a sad song because they can't put notches in their headboard.

Seems you may have a guilty conscious as I wasn't even refering to you, just referring to those who bash someone who works darn hard at winning and has a good time doing it, frankly I've never heard of you or read any of your posts. Sorry if it seemed like I was attacking you personally. THe target of my headboard comment was the ones calling us cowards because we would rather live to fight another day than to push a bad situation and get shot down. Personally I hate getting shot down. I fly as I would IRL. Seeing I pay for my account with my hard earned money I'll fly how I want when I want, and use whatever tactics needed to ensure I go home in one piece. If coward=common sense...so be it.

Why would I have to?  You said:

To which I am replying, you clearly are either not looking hard enough or simply attempting to slander.  More than 20% of his kills and deaths last non-bugged tour were in the plane you "don't see [him] in anymore."  The point is well, clearly, and fairly made that you don't know what you are talking about.

You also said:

Which I say is clearly bunk since the IL2 has plenty of virtues as a defense plane, and well known to be one of Ghi's most-used rides in base defense regardless of the presence or absence of a "bug."

But please, be my guest and take the time to prove me wrong. If it was "almost all he flew", then clearly you should be able to find a month during the "bug time" in which the majority (that means >50% if you are math-challenged) of Ghi's kills and deaths are in the IL2.  Furthermore, if the only reason he was doing so was because of the bug, then this percentage must be at least, oh, lets say 20% more than his highest percentage in any non-bugged tour.

If you can do that, I will bow to your powers of observation (and your patience, sheesh) and join you in saying Ghi was "exploiting the IL2 bug."  The absense of that shows you were just talking out your b-hind about someone you just don't like.

Whoops, Karaya posted while I was typing.  Tour 83 . . .

468 kills of a total of 1685.  Roughly 28%.
234 deaths of a total of 924.  Roughly 25%.

Compared to last month, tour 87 . . .

183 kills of a total of 925.  Roughly 20%.
60 deaths of a total of 220.  Roughly 27%.

It doesn't look to me like the difference is large enough to prove "exploiting the bug."  :aok

Bellows, Maruk, Napier, Pavs, Payne, Maxwell, Broten, Giles, Mckegney Ciccarelli.

The visiting NHL teams practiced at Bloomington Ice Gardens.  I was a rink rat there.  I used to sneak back on to the ice after the Zamboni redid the ice after rat time.  There would be what seemed like 100 pucks thrown out on the ice by the teams' staff.  I'd goof off with the players on the ice until one of their coaches or a rink staffer tossed me.  Man that was fun.

I've never seen you Rook, as the Raw Prawns are a Rook squad, and Hugo9, RT, FTJR are good friends.

You must be the only person in your squad that DOES NOT PM when shot down.   Because no less than 8 of your "generalizations" have done it.    Move along now.

Considering that we live in very different parts of the world the fact that you have not seen me as rook is not strange at all, is it?

JR, Mangy, Gork, Ductape and the others I've flown with are all fantastic blokes and they're a pleasure to fly with and against.

Perhaps I am the only person who doesn't PM when i get shot down. My point still stands, you should not dismiss my opinion without having a good reason to do so. The actions of others is not a valid reason.

I'd also prefer it if you did not speak down to me, it is unecessary.

Also, I've never seen the PMs, it is not spoken of so I never knew of it. Dallas happens to be a realy friendly and enthusiastic guy and since I've only flown with him, I wouldn't know otherwise.

I joined the Screaming Devils because they were a Bish squad who were really friendly, took the time to help me out when I was getting started and liked to fly Luftwaffe aircraft. They insisted that I join, so started out with them after flying lone-wolf from the beginning.

I've been planning to do a tour or two with the Rooks so perhaps I will see you around some time in the near future.

I still believe that AH would profit if a proper attack classification was created and F3 switched off when in an attack aircraft.

I have seen him lead countless MASS B-26 raids.

When a dar-bar BLOB up's from Bishland on a weekend, and when one of the first to scout the mission says "...It's about 15 boxes of B-26's in-bound!".....(with sufficient fighter escorts) I know it's a ghi mission.

And, I'm sorry, I didn't realize the bug was the only possible reason anyone ever flew the IL2.  I thought it was because it is the best cap/vulch buster in the game, especially when fighter hangers are down.

Why do people think that the IL-2 should be completely harmless?

It has two awesome cannons, two mg's with the highest rate of fire in WW2 and a lot of wing ares that allows it to turn and fight if it has some energy.
Add to that the outside view a target rich environment and someone is going to go down to the guns of the Sturmovik. it can happen to anyone.
Even to some of the best pilots. it only takes a couple of those cannon shells to shoot down a plane.

The WORLD HIGHEST SCORING ACE TO BE KILLED IN COMBAT WENT DOWN TO THE GUNS OF THE il-2.

Otto Kittel with no less then 267 aerial kills was the victim. The forth highest scoring ace of all times.

" At 1206 hours on February 16, 1945 four Fw 190 A-8 led by Oberleutnant Otto Kittel of 2./JG 54 took off from an airbase in the Kurland pocket. The mission was free hunting over the frontline area near Dzukste. After only seven minutes the German fighters spotted fourteen Il-2s that were bombing and shooting rockets at German troops from an altitude of 450 feet. Oberleutnant Kittel radioed an attack order. The Il-2 Shturmoviks were flying in a row, one after another, and Kittel attacked from the right hand side. His wingman Oberfähnrich Renner wrote:
"Flying at a distance of about 300 feet from Oblt. Kittel I saw him dive beneath and behind an Il-2 and attack it. Behind us two other Il-2s pulled up sharply. In the nexy moment an explosion was seen in his cockpit and the aircraft started to descend." Kittel's Fw 190 tore into the ground with its starboard wing, caught fire, and then exploded. Otto Kittel, victor in 267 aerial combats and the highest scoring fighter pilot to fall prey to the enemy, had no chance whatsoever of surviving."

If it happened to him, it could happen to anyone.

Does things I've never seen any of the other two countries do -

1) Took a base with an IL2 raid ,lol.
2) Just for fun a Hurri IIc raid.
3) After some jibes from the Rooks about Bish, we took a base with TBM's and A6Ms.

He definately does things differently, but a lot of fun.

Various things like that.

Not the usual Rook / Knit Lala raid (yawn).

Goldsworthy, Grant, Williams, Parise, Nanne, Worsely, Maniago, Harris, Drouin, Ried, Gibbs, and on and on. Still have my copy of "The Goldy Shuffle", Goldsworthy's biography  :)

Oh it was good to be a kid in those days.  Interesting they get mentioned.  Today at an Antique store with the Mrs., I ran across a beat up old Coleco table hockey game......We had such good fun with those back in the day.....

The same list crossed my mind as well. I started to follow Goldsworthy when he came up to the Niagara Falls Flyers. He was one talented hockey player. I always thought that if he had graduated to Boston that he could have had the same kind of fame as Guy LaFleur, Yvon Cournoyer or any other of his contemporaries (with the exception of Bobby Orr... the finest player that pro hockey has ever seen). Ah well, memories. Great hockey... you don't see that kind of playing anymore.

I think it is wonderful that so many of you have found a player to look up to.

Myself, I look up to Vets that absolutely refuse to fly La7s, and would never consider flying ANY plane that benefitted from a bug. But I guess I hold my heros to a higher standing than most.

Nope, we don't.  Just read the recent Bobby Orr biography.  A very good read about that time.  He was something to watch.

Cournoyer was one of my favorites from the Canadians.  Fast and smooth.  I still remember when the North Stars beat the Canadians in a play off game to become the first 67 expansion team to do so.  Took em to a 6th game and appeared to have sent it to overtime on Ted Hampson's last second goal, but the red light did not go on, it was a second too late.

Great memories.

Ok First what bug are we talking about. Second I dont care about what you say about ghi, 75 percent of the Bish couldnt not operate without him. He is a Bish Hero to alot of the Bish mostly the Noobs who have no guidance or feel for the game. Being an LTAR I know the in's an outs of the games and never have seen one person effect a country more than ghi. I have personally went on some of his missions an found not to many people put one together as well as him. I have never seen one of his missions fail. Karaya you can say what you want cause IMHO feeel you are jealous of his skills. The only other person who might effect gameplay is Shawk an his minions but IT WILL NOT BE SHAWK by himself, he will have his cronies doin HIS will cause they cannot function on their own. I will offend some on this but I am not afraid to say it as it is. Not taking anything away from Shawk because he is a talented player WHO PLAYS the games SMART. But to hit Strats to keep your Rank High is pretty Lame. I will take ghi as a fellow countryman over just about anyone in the game except my fellow LTAR brothers...If I offended anyone..I really dont care.. ALL

There are those that will argue that Bobby Orr is not the greatest ... but that is because they never really saw him play.

Orr did things on the ice, that I still haven't ever seen others do and am not sure they could do what he did ... he is kinda like the Jimmy Hendrix of hockey ... "How the hell did he do that ?" ... often imitated, but never replicated.

I was a huge Ranger fan back then, but loved Bobby Orr and Derick Sanderson.

"Old School"

Jean Ratelle - Walt Tkaczuk - Brad Park - Rod Seiling -   Glen Sather - Ed Giacomin - Gilles Villemure - Pete Stemkowski -    Derek Sanderson (74-75 season)  - Rick Middleton

Went to the Boston Garden to see the Blackhawks play the Bruins. Mid ice, 15 rows up. Bobby Hull skates right be me ... gets the the blue and lets go his famous curved stick slapshot ... upper left hand corner of the net ... that was his 500th goal. They stopped the game and made a big presentation out it.

The power and speed of his slapshot left my jaw hanging on the floor.

i can talk some trash but this witchhunt is ridiculous...ghi is about the nicest guy you could meet...

even if IL2 was "bugged" when do ever see one? Do 6 Il2's creep up on your 6 and than bnz you from 15k? Does a roving band of Il2's vulch you after killing your ftr hangars? does a pack of low alt  suicide  IL2'S kill your cv? mmm no

The only time you see one is when your trying to cherrypick/vulch and you overshoot and get your *** handed you...only in today's AH can a player get lambasted for defending his own friggin field from a mindless horde

Orr certainly was the best of his time.  Coffey had comparable skills and a much better  cast of mates.

The talk was already started about Norm Green moving the Stars at the point.  He was a real $&^%(#^%#.

So to some degree we were detaching ourselves from the Stars already knowing it was in the works.

That the Stars got that far at all that year was a minor miracle so the ride to that point had been great fun.  Kinda like the Twins winning the division on the last day last year.  That climb was so much fun, the play offs almost didn't matter.

So that wasn't as painful as it could have been :)

IIRC, the Il had some sort of damage accumulation thingy where they could even take a direct hit from the main gun on a tank and continue flying.
