Huh. What a great game. WTG Finland!!!
Team USA!
-
Interesting shootout. No scoring on the first 4 attempts on either side...
-
Next the Russians. Will Borada be doing a dance or trying to find a lifeboat after his flood of tears?
-
Good luck with the russians :D

I hope the Finns learned from previous Russia match, otherwise I agree with Boroda. I think we have about 10% chance of winning that match.
Russia.

What a thriller again... I wonder why Finland can't score the deciding goal during regular game. Well, we're in the final anyways. :)
-
WTG Finns.
Good luck with the Canadians:)
I hope that the finns at least tries to play hockey.
The swedish team sure didn´t :furious
-
Is there any chance? (http://www.rajavirasto.net/hymi/sport_13.gif)

The Russians are has beens. :D
Boroda must being buying the boat because of his 'flood of tears'.
Canada-Sweden was a boring game as only Canada came to play.

That's the unfortunate truth. I expected way more from the Swedes. Pathetic, not even pulling the goalie in 3rd period when they had the chance for a major push. :(

Well Finns were lucky, that's all.
We have lost Morozov, best scoring attack player from Tatar five, before that game, and then Finns quickly disabled Markov and Schastliviy, so Russians were left without main attack line players.
In many years we finally got the best team, we were better - but it's sport, you need some luck too. For the first time since 1993 we have a team that's almost equal to legendary Soviet heros. See you next year ;)

Canada Wins Gold !!!! :aok

Congratulations, Canada.
Looked to me like Finns started playing too late, in the third period.
-
Thank you Finland (Panzzer).
More like the Canucks sat back in the 3rd.
-
Great game. See you in Canada next year ;)
Finally Canada had beaten USSR/Russia record: they won World Cup 24 times, we did it only 23 times. Congrats!

No I didn't.
Every time I go to a hockey game - my team loses :(
I prefer not to watch games on TV too, maybe I have a "bad eye", during RU/FI game I switched on my TV right after Markin scored a goal, and then - you know :( The only game in several years that I watched (last two periods) and we won was the Russia-Canada game at the Olympics, it was so tense that I had to eat validol...
Speaking of youth championships - do you remember that USSR/Canada game in 1987 (IIRC) when they ended in a huge fistfight, police (!!!) came and switched off the light? Both teams were disqualified for a year. Bure, Zhamnov and other future stars were in Soviet team there.

Agh yes, the Fight. Be sure I remember. It was the referee's fault. He let the Russians get away with the cheap shots, like ankle hacking. When they got to the NHL, this stopped or at least subsidded, after being pummeled a few times. In 'the old days' the Europian refs called the game like Women's hockey. No disrespect towards women, just they have no body contact in their game.
There was other games besides the ones your team played in.
I know the feeling as my team is in the Stanley Cup semi finals. They have a reputation as chokers. Tonight will tell, as they are up 2-0 in the series against the Sabres and the next 2 games are at home. They are both in the same conference, so have played each other many times during regular season and in play-offs. Sabres usually come out on top.
The last time they won Lord Stanley's Cup was in 1932/33 and 1933/34. The next year they went to St Louis, played one year and then folded. In 1991 they came back to Ottawa as a expansion team.
