I just upgraded to the 8800gts card.
I have a crt monitor for gaming and a lcd on the side for browsing ect..
My current power supply is an antec 550w.
Before with the 7800gt card I had no issues.
Now the lcd blinks off and on randomly and the crt runs fine. Could this be because the 550w psu is inadequate at power this card and system now?

If your power supply has a combined 12V current rating of 28A or more you should be OK.
I wish I knew what else would cause the blink out.
-
I was wrong. This is actually the psu I currently run.
Could this be my issue?

I have a 8800GTS and run dual 17" and 20" LCD. Your PSU is fine in the amperage. I'll need to know what version drivers you are using. Also, is your LCD using an analog cable or digital?
Analogy cable:

Digital DVI cable:

Its using the DVI digital cable.
Running the forceware 158.22 drivers.

Other than the obvious lose cable connection, the only things I can think of are possibly refresh rates on the LCD monitor, these may have been reset to an improper Hz rating when u installed the new card/drivers).
What resolution and refresh rates are you using on the LCD? Also what model # etc for the LCD.
The blinking, is it like a 1/4 sec blink, almost like a flicker, or is it like a LCD turns off, 1-2 seconds later it turns back on?
-
It runs fine. Then about 10-15 mins into being on the screen goes black like no signal. Then it comes back on. It randomly does it, sometimes a quick flicker somethings off for a long time.
Its a Samsung SyncMaster 204b
Was running it at 1600x1200 60
I switched it to the other dvi plug on the back of the video card and it did the same.
I'm going to the system now with only the lcd monitor connected and see what happens. Really weird, like I said the 7800gt ran flawless with this monitor.
I'm going to recheck the cable too.
edit-
I'm on the LCD by itself now. Runs fine. Only acts up when both monitors are plugged into the card.
I take that back. I'm still on the LCD alone and it's wigging out. Noticed tiny white artifacts all over the screen and now the screen is blinking on and off randomly. The scrren goes black, comes back up and acts fine all over again.

That sounds like a temperature problem on the video card. Or just a bad card. I had that exact same thing happen on an AGP card. Got a new one and all was good.

The last thing to try is, try the monitor on another computer. If the monitor works fine on another computer, then the video card looks like the source of the problem.

I'm getting a new DVI cord tomorrow. One last thing to try before I rma the card. It runs fine in games and everything else, just doens't like this lcd monitor.. hopefully its the cable.

Does your monitor have a analog port? or just an DVI? My Viewsonic 20" has both. If possible, try the monitor on the analog cable.
-
Yes it does. I"ll test that one too.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
