Title: FSO: Pacific Pinsalamanders, Frame 2 Score
Post by: ghostdancer on May 12, 2007, 12:33:09 PM
In frame 2 the Allies dominated the air war, killing and scoring at a 2 to 1 rate.  However, the ground war and the lack of ground war again really hurt the allies. Actually it gives the frame to the Japanese.

Looks like both sides were heavily on the defensive. However, the Japanese did a fair job getting bombs on target. They sunk the allied CV, CA, and 1. In contrast the IJN fleet suffered no significant damage at all. Only three bombs (1 from Hapvodka, 1 from hopper 16, and 1 Eagle DNY) each striking a different ship (and destroying guns and suck on those ships). This lack of sinking ships really, really hurt the allies.

The allies barely touched A13, killing only one gun (the second gun th ere be killing some how bye friendly fire). But the Japanese only killed Barracks at A14, so this is roughly even.

Lastly the allies only scratched A12 destroying only 9 guns and an ammo bunker. Meanwhile the Japanese did much better hitting A10, destroying 5 guns, 2 ammo bunkers, the vehicle hangar, 1 fighter hangar, and 1 bomber hangar.

Here are the scores below. As I said the lack of basically the allies scoring any ground points and the axis punching through and doing 47% damage to the allied  bases and fleet is what gave the frame to the Japanese.

Final score is 1259 Allies to 1624 IJN/IJA. Allies take the frame by 365 points.

Allies
006 = Allied Attack
438 = Allied Defense
815 = Air to Air

1259 = Allied Total

IJN/IJA
396 = Axis Attack
828 = Axis Defense
400 = Air to Air

1624 = IJN / IJA Total

Two Frame Totals
3018 = Allies
3240 = Japanese

Japanese lead by only 222. Frame 3 will determine the whole shebang.

They lost one CV in frame 1 and now a second CV in frame two.  Do they have any CV's left?

This scenario is starting to sound a little Operational Downfallish.....

In 1943 the U.S. had 6 heavy carriers; Saratoga, Wasp, Hornet, Enterprise, Lexington, and Yorktown.

So yes, I would say the U.S. still can deploy some CVs for the last frame. ;)

And I would say the FSO is moving toward the Coral Sea area based on how things have been going so far.

Maybe the Allies will keep the MA mentality and just furball this Friday to.

The MA mentality works both ways. Killed and captured Japanese pilots from last Friday, will be flying again this Friday. Seeing how the Allies are knocking down Japanese planes at 2 to 1 it's a good thing getting killed or captured doesn't knock you out of the next frame. Plus if the number of available planes doesn't drop from losses, why should the ships?
