I just realized you are in Florida TwinBoom. Ok that whole state is having serious issues as there has been a lot of damage to the telephone line infrastructure due to fires and drought.
Much of the Internet access is being consolidated over fewer trunk lines than were available before. The voice system gets the highest priority so the data bandwidth is further reduced.
The Internet is a general mess in Florida right now. It will simply be spotty. One hour you will be fine, the next you will be in misery.
I just ran a trace back to to you and it was droppin packets on almost every hop back to you once it got into the Florida telecom infrastructure.
I can't even tell you who to complain to, as it is all over the map.

ty for the help gave me some insight:)

I'm in florida also and have the same problem, Thanks

Since the new thing, I get about 1 CTD every 6 missions, I'm sure it's video-related, but as I remember, going above the 66 drivers for the FX5700 card makes things much worse

Tell him to get a bucket of water or hose and get out there! Fight those fires to save your packets!

We need to have a BIG concert at the Orange bowl to save the packets..pleeeeeeease give....mebbe Bob Geldoff will show up

I reset my router and it seems to have solved my troubles with switching to tcp from udp.
all clogged up i guess.
My vid card (7600 gt) seems to screem though like its working over time now but still no troubles as of yet.
so much for packet loss....didnt need the darn things anyway.
Hope they find there way back from floridas big barbiqueeee.

The first 4 months I played AH I may have had 2 disco's, the last month Ive had around 15-20, Im not in Florida I have comcast 12 meg cable, and Ive never had any troubles till latly and only on AH. I love the game, but its getting a tad rediculas with all "lost UDP switched to TCP" crap.
-
Ah Alas, I think Ive found a fix!!!! I went to the Microsoft/help web site, they had a whole thing on losing UDP/TCP etc, there is a command that may help.
Go to your dos C: prompt, type: netsh winsock reset catalog
Now this is ONLY for windows XP sevice pack 2, if your running a different system this command wont work!!
If I helped in anyway, glad to, if not.... keep up the search!!

This is probably unrelated to this thread but I highly recommend checking if there is a more recent firmware upgrade for your router if you are behind one. Last year I was getting tons of discos and happened to think to check how out of date the firmware level on my Linksys router was. It was like fours years old. I flashed a new one and haven't had a disco since. Worth checking.

Bit of an Update to my last post, I did the netsh reset command and I havent had a disco in 2 days!! That in its self is amazing to me since it seemed to be happeneing every day. So if you have Win XP, follow the instructions in my last post, or go to the Microsoft website and read for yourself.
