47D-11 352FG/328FS by rogerdee
51D 352FG/487FS by Fencer51

Close numbers (maybe they'll have similar paint schemes?)

51B 354FG/356FS by MachNix
51B 355FG/354FS by MachNix

Don't ever again comment on Allied Paint Schemes after a comment like that :)

352nd FG were the Blue Nosers.  There is one P51D done by Fencer in those markings.  The Jug would more then likely have the white standard ID band on the nose as they got Mustangs shortly after the addition of group nose colors were added in the 8th AF.

I wasn't sure Guppy, am at work, can't look anything up!

I honestly can't remember which paint scheme goes with which allied FG. I remember the paint scheme itself! Just not which number it goes with. I'm sorry, I should have said "also check out these, there's a slim chance they might be similar, but probably not".

yes but their not similar, the 352nd Fighter group or "blue nosed bastards of Bodney"because they had blue nosed aircraft.i found a link to help http://WWW.web-birds.com/8th/352 click on the links below the photo and it gives you a photo of what it looks like and what squad of the 352nd they were in(some may not have pictures),they were a P51 and a P47 squad,i only started looking, and that was the first web page i say that had pictures and info about the aircraft, ill keep looking thow.

Well if you notice the page you linked it shows some P47s very similar to what we have already, and even though it lists a P51B the photos below that don't seem to show any, and it doesn't seem that OD with D-Day stripes was the norm, so I think that was a freak exception to the rule.

Long story short: You want skins, we've got 2 skins, 1 for 51D 1 for 47D11.

That should keep ya going for now. Only thing missing might be a 47D25 skin, but we probably have something close in the meantime (until somebody does a 352FG skin)

Probably your best bet is to see if someone can do a P Pony to go with the Blue nosed D and the Jug.  They didn't have later Jugs, just the razorbacks before they got B Ponies in April of 44.

So you could hopefully get either an OD/Gray bird with the blue nose or a NMF B pony with the blue nose.

They did actually have one OD/Gray B Pony with a blue nose and a sharks mouth.  That would be different.

I will look into doing a P-51B of the 352nd FG but its going to be down the list.  By that time you will probably be in another squadron! :rofl

I have a couple 352nd books already Vans so don't spend too much time researching.  Try http://www.littlefriends.co.uk as well as http://www.starduststudios.com/BNmain.htm (http://www.starduststudios.com/BNmain.htm)

Oh and Krusty, there is the option to NOT post when you don't know anything.  Just a reminder. :)

For our BG we are using the last 24 skin, (Yes I know 352nd didn't have a BW) was there a real 24 that had some type of blue nose?

How bout this one Fencer.  Only shark mouth in the 352nd.  I've seen photos of it too, so it's not a made up bird.

That without a doubt is a cool plane.  I have pictures of it as well.  However, I don't like it. :p :D

Of the two, I prefer hellerbust much more than the sharkmouthed one.

i like the shark mouth one so i might have a play at doing it if i gt the urge to do some skining.

do the invasion stripes go over the top f the wings or are they just underneath the wings.

They wrap around the wings.  I have a picture of her without the invasion stripes as well, but with a white nose band.

Holy shizno, that was fast! And it looks good, too!

I say, "why not?" -- Go ahead and submit it. They might hold onto it and put it into rotation in 4-6 months anyways (so why wait if they're gonna hold it?)

Did notice something doing this though.  The Exhaust stacks on the 3D model are too long for the B.  They should be 6-8 inches forward of the swoop on the nose.

Yeah I will submitt it, I was attempting to mess with Vans who was stalking me in the G14 thread.

About 6 hours on this, I had a good template from Salem Representative.

What part of "inaccurate" was unclear?

It never carried those colors in the war. It was OD uppers, and we already have one or two P51s with a similar color (just not the yellow nose)

EDIT: Fencer, funny how you find out inaccuracies like that. Ever notice the H-stabs on the 109E are too far forward? The rear hinge by the elevator ought to be almost flush with the rudder join, but it's well forward of that.

Nope, haven't done an E model yet, there seemed to be plenty of people doing those.  I am just trying to help fill some of the 109 slots since not too many people do those, unlike the 51s.

Don't forget the plane codes are off as well on the pic above.

Just for the record, I did submitt this skin (and 5 others) in Late May.  However Skuzzy informed me today that he never received them and they will not be in the next skin pack.

Sorry guys, I have resubmitted them all, maybe in a couple months you will have it.
