After spending a fruitless 20 mins or so trying to help someone out, how about this -
Something similar to Yahoo's audio setup on the main login page.
That way they know their mic works BEFORE entering the game.
Also (not sure if it works like this already)
The first text channel ( / one) made the defualt country channel.
Both would help us, to help the noobs.

Just point the noobs to the Help files on the HTC home page. If they choose not to read them then they don't deserve any help in my opinion.
Mic set up is in there along with most information needed to play the game.
I just don't like people that expect me to provide for their instant gratification. I took the time to read all that stuff so can the noobs.

Yeah but when I was a noob I printed out the help files and actually read them after I put them in a nice 3 ring binder. I took the time to learn what I needed to get started.
A noob that has to ask how to take off doesn't deserve my attention, but that's just me. I was born an A hole and just got bigger.

Altough one have to read the help really need the deserved "help" by himself, but I still think that the mic setup options can be improved. Something like skype test calls. My own problem on Mic was not the working of it, but the proper volume setting. After doing some other recording/mic using, I have to change the mic volume in game. But I do not have any feedback in the setup menu. (I can't really get how loud it would be to other guys). some testing - repeat it back to oneself in the setup, would help everyone.

Go offline press Alt R and then talk. Exit game go to:
Program Files>HTC>Aces High II>Films.
Watch the last filmin the folder to see if your mic is working or the volume is to high/low.

thanks for the comment! I didn't know that I can use play film to check my own voice ... :) I will do that when I need to adjust the volume from now on.
But still, you know, that is that! go offline and play film to check my own mic volume, seems not very direct way to do it and, maybe a little bit of effort (on the HTC side) can improve this. :)

Why don't you just set your radio 5 to yourself?
I check my mic for game use by typing ".radio 5 kermit". I press the T key and I can talk to myself. :) I will hear exactly what others hear.
Please don't type exactly what I wrote in the quotes. I don't want to hear you noobs squeaken in my ears.
Type dot, then radio, then the radio number, then your game name
example: .radio 5 Kev367th

oh, my! that's much simpler! I can't understand why I couldn't think of that before! ... In fact, When I suspect my volume "would" be too high, I usually wait for my friends (who won't hate me of causing too much noise) to check me out. ... yet I could have set channel 5 to myself.
oh, kermit, you should have write down like this,
.radio 5 [yourgameid]
, I'm TRUELY believe some noob gonna put that quote exactly and talk to you :) (just kidding)

You can set any one of the channels to whatever you'd like. I've got / set to squad, Shift/ set to country and Ctrl/ set to 200. Those are really the only ones I use regularily.
Just use the dropdown to set the first channel (/) to country. No reason to "default" it for everyone else.
