Any skinners up to the task of a Hartmann 109G6? the man has more kills than anyone...and his main ride does not have his colors on it yet.

at bottom of page, where it says Hartmann was consulted to ensure accuracy of the colors.

BTW, the default skin is made of Hartmann's plane.

I just checked the link in the original post.
I'm not so sure about consulting with Hartmann himself, because it's a 109F or G-2 model with a black tulip and later 1943 markings, both of which would not be present, if Hartmann had a 109 before the G-6.
Not a good representation, IMO, but I thought we already had this skin in-game?

Well, IMHO there are quite a few 109 skins that should not have been accepted. Obviously, I won't start naming them because then the **** would hit the fan.
I'll just say this...it doesn't really matter how sub-par skin gets posted to this forum most people jump in and shout "GREAT!!! :aok :aok " without much hesitation.
Just to give you an example what I'm talking about...compare Kanttori's 109-skins to some of the other 109 skins. The difference is pretty obvious.

I dont really care if the the link I provided, which was googled, is accurate or not....point of the post was, we need a Hartmann G6.
If the default is his, which I thought it was suppose to be, I didnt see the signature red heart on it, left side, below cockpit....which led me to believe it was not his.

The early 109 skins are great.
Some of the late-war 109 skins could be better.
(There are still some good ones there too, though.... just very few)
The colours on a lot of the later ones are just bloody weird.
Way too bright.... crazy shades and even wrong colours.

As one of the 4 people with "Late War 109s" which I would assume are the G6s, G14s and K4s. I would be very interested in knowing which ones are "sub par".
The skinners involved are Fencer51, Wotan, Truekill, and NrRaven.
Truekill is already here, so am I, TK you ok with this? Wotan is MIA and his previous comments on the board show he has no problem complaining about skins so he should take any comments back at him well ( :lol )and NrRaven has been gone over a year.
I can take it, point out the problems if they are mine. If you don't want to do it publically then PM me and we can keep it private.
If you not willing to help clean up and fix problems then don't complain! :)
The reason I started doing 109s was that no-one was doing the later war ones. I have several under construction, and if mine are indeed considered sub par by you gents the "consuming public" then lets hear it. I got other things I can do with my time! Seriously! :aok

Your 109 G-14 skin is great, Fencer.
I'll be blunt, I think i've mentioned this before, but NrRaven's colours seem way out.
I also quite like Wotan's JG 53 skin and use it most of the time.

However, the colours just seem.... whacky.
I'm not sure if this just a game thing or if the colours used are just too.....'animated'
I can't explain it any better than saying that a lot of the 109, and even the 190D9 skins for that matter, look 'cartoonish'
I want it to be clear that I'm not slagging off any skinners and that I am nothing but greatful for any effort put into this work. I just feel that this good work is often held back by poor colour in the case of late-war Luftwaffe aircraft.

I took it to PM for this very reason. Don't want to get into a destructive tear-down session -- especially if folks aren't here to defend themselves. Please pursue this via PM.
Xasthur, the profile you posted is quite muted and perhaps not the best to compare to in-game skins. Apparently, it is not the same plane as is in-game so it could be entirely different.

Oh, indeed.
Like I said, I'm really not trying to offend anyone or be rude or whatever.
These are just observations and possible suggestions for future skins :)

I have Jagdwaffe Volume 5, sections 1, 2 and 3 as well as both volumes of "Aircraft of the Luftwaffe Fighter Aces" and all the Osprey Aircraft of the Aces referencing LW 109s except the latest Russian front one.

Fencer, I like your work. I think they are speaking of Nravens late war ones...I hear complaints about his colors frequently. they are different.
I guess the default is EH's...I thought it was, just didnt see the red heart on side like I am use to seeing. Is it suppose to be there on that particular skin?

a lot of the colour thing is down to peoples computer settings not just how the skins are done.
if the skinner is using the colour codes for the corect colours then there shouldnt be any problems with wrong colors.however it also depends on how u have your setting on your pc and in game.
not everyone has the same and things look different from one to another,i did a skin and it looked fine on my pc and my laptop but on my mates pc it looked too bright because of his setings.
Alot of it is what looks right to the eye as we dont have perfect colour photos of the aircraft alot of it is done to the standard of if it looks right,then it could be right.
I have done a desert g6 and ive been told that its the wrong colour or that the rivits dont show ect,but having stood next to that aircraft and taken digital photos of it i know the colours and the rivits are correct to what i have seen,but others will have a different interpertation.
