What an incredible effort!
-
:O WOW!!!!!
That was truely an AMAZING effort to make that film and a great story..

An incredible story! I'm fortunate to actually own a signed copy of this aviation print by Jim Laurier depicting Johnson's story. (Sorry that I'm at work and can't post a picture).
The P-47 was an amazing fighter. No wonder that the two (2) highest American Aces in the ETO, Johnson and Gabreski, both flew the Jug.

awsome:aok

Downloading it now, but I watched the first 5 minutes, looks fantastic. The amount of work put into it must have been incredible.
I think I'll reinstall IL2 as well.
...just watched it, that was UNFREAKING-BELIEVABLE.

was very emotional for some reason...

Ya that was cool. I read the story years ago and it's always stuck in my mind. I think the film exagerated what he had left for controls though. Also remember remember Johnson talking about how he would shrink down as low as he could in the cockpit to make sure as much of himself was behind the armour plating behind the seat every time the 190 made a run.
Amazing story and yes teh 47 is a good plane. I think I'm 26 and 1 in it this month, mostly the D25.

I hit vod pod and ka-pow! 16 immediate security alerts in CA and Firefox. Zow.
Went that flight-som blogspot to download, only 6 alerts come up immediately.
Sure glad I keep my system locked down.... those file share sites are getting unreal.

Dunno about Evenhaim but f*** me man, I had a lump in me throat ....twice.
For a "cartoon", as we AH'ers like to say, that film was brilliant in my opinion. Good detail, good action, fantastic dedication to the film but most of all a worthy portrayal of one mans moment in history.:aok

Wow 350MBs that will take years on dial up. Any of you guys kind enough to burn it to a CD-R and mail it to me? PM for my addy if you want to.

Most stirring moment for me was when he said many aircraft didnt make it back...Flak Dancer was one of them.

If this wasn't a true story I'd never believe it in a million years.
and bravo. Excellent film. I had a lump in my throat as well, but I always do when I watch emotional films about pilots dying.
