If a republican did something like this the media and other liberals would be jumping down their throats.

Sheriff Lee drew notoriety shortly after the hurricane when some of his deputies helped prevent hurricane evacuees, most of them black, from crossing the Crescent City Connection bridge into Jefferson Parish. Sheriff Lee defended the move, saying his office had “a duty to protect our people.”
Texas cities, including my own, welcomed the refugees with outstretched arms. How could anyone get away with denying access to those fleeing Katrina and not suffer political suicide?

crime rates suspiciously went up in some Texas cities after Katrina

Not just in Texas, sir. Every city they were exported to, had marked increases in crimes of all types, with Theft and Drugs topping the list

No good deed goes unpunished.
Apparently Sheriff Lee was more familiar with his neighbors.

Absolutely crime migrated with the displaced from New Orleans. That was certainly no surprise or the least bit unexpected. New Orleans has not been known as a bastion of virtuosity. Forget compassion for those suffering a catastrophe for a minute, was it even legal for a sheriff to deny public access to a public road to American citizens? That Hillary thinks she can continue to embrace this man while claiming to be the champion of the very people he turned back is Clinton brazenness in all of it's tawdriness.

from the looks of em... I am pretty certain that I wouldn't want to be around about 90% of the "refugees" of katrina.
They look like the fine people you see looting and burning in riots.

There is a difference between those who would buy votes with taxpayer money and those who would actually help people learn a better way of life. In which of those two groups will you find the Clintons? Or most of the democrat politicians for that matter?

sometimes you have to wonder if Katrina wasn't Darwinism interrupted

some of them ended up in a section eight apartment complex owned by one of our clients. this lady owns and runs really well maintained and administered low cost housing complexes in the "opportunity areas" of pompano beach. it's amazing to see what these folks did to the building and surrounding neighborhood in a year's time.

Some would excuse their behavior due to poverty. I think they had no respect for this woman's help or property because of an "they owe me" attitude. This is an attitude which our very own government has created and fostered for decades. I am at a loss as to how we can change this attitude other than stop being an enabler.

And some would say that calling them out on this behavior is racism.
It's unfortunate that I've heard it before.

that attitude of which you type is there in some of the underclasses to an extent. I'm talking about sheer stupidity which transcends anything I have yet witnessed. acts such as people removing the balcony rails from second and third storey buildings to sell the aluminum for scrap while they have young children living in these same apartments. ripping out the copper from the interior plumbing of the units. removing the copper grounding wire from telephone and power poles as high as they can reach. truly truly amazing stuff. we are replacing balcony rails with steel at significant cost to the owner in an attempt to stave off possible death of children and the subsequent lawsuits. we sometimes have to fight with some of the tenants to keep the aluminum for the owner to sell as scrap.
