Yea well I want a 38D, 38F, 38H, 38 with 6x50s, 38 droop snoop, 38L superstrafer, 38 with a tail hook, and 38 with 2xtorps doesnt mean we are going to get them.
-
You forgot the 38 with the 8 X 50cals in the nose...............I want those!:p :aok :aok
-
P39
He-111
Betty
Pe2
Judy for Sikboy
All those planes from the voting list
Artillery, yes, especially with the limit on manned guns. Two shell types, object impact and dot altitude air bursts.
The H8K Emily would be nice too.

A-26B Invader (solid nose)- perk worthy attack bomber (need perk bomber other than Arado)
A-26C Invader (glass nosed) - perk worthy level bomber - only change from B is the nose, otherwise identical planes.
German 88mm FlaK36 towed artillery - player manned ack to 35K altitude, indirect artillery, long range direct fire
Judy for blue water fliers and CV ops
G.55 light perked interceptor and best of the Italian planes and a treat for some Luffenwobble pilots.
Stuka JU 87G Gustav (refitted D model) version with the twin 37mm BK FlaK18 tank killing cannons.
P-39D/P-39Q/P-400 Airacobra - Soviet model, lend lease in the Soviet plane set.
Pe-2 Peshka to give the Russians a bomber. Il-2 and Pe-2 working together with La-5's and Yaks for cover would make for a great Eastern Front SEA event.
Ki-84-Ic (Mark Ic) - Lightly perked. Version against Bombers, with two cannons Ho-5 (20 mm) and Ho-105 (30 mm) in wings.
Mitsubishi J2M "Raiden" Bomber interceptor.
He-177 Greif only German Heavy bomber produced in numbers. Nice altitude, bomb payload, speed. Just normal ord, no guided rockets or bombs.
Yak-3 Short legs but possibly a very fun dogfighter. Considered one of the best at the time.
* Hard to find good additions to Japanese planeset.... any bombers are worse than the Ki-67. The Oscar is a lighter, weaker version of the Zeke. Their twin engines fighters all are pretty weak. Ki-100 not different enough from Ki-61 to justify the work.
* Other than the perk worthy A-26 and a Russian version of the P-39, I'd avoid any more American additions until the other plane sets have been filled out a bit more.
* As the Late War Arenas hold the greatest interests, I don't place too much emphasis on adding early war aircraft. Yes, they have use in EW SEA events, but I think more emphasis should be placed on creating a viable scenario for a time frame than trying to recreate particular battles (which were, if well planned and executed, pretty one sided IRL). I think there are plenty of things that could be created in the Mid-War and Late-War time frame.

At that point I'm out lol.
But a new damage model for Ships and AP bombs to use on them would be pretty nice (but so far down the list it's not funny).
Maybe with CT:2

That is the 38L superstrafer which I mentioned above. It had 8x50s in the nose and the ability to carry 2 wingpods. Each of the wingpods had 2x50s each. The grand total was 12x50s for this 38. Like to see the n00bs in their la7s ho me now. :t

2 X .50's in wing pods? Sounds like the gun pods carried by the A-26 Invader prior to the block-50 builds when they put 6 X .50's in the leading edge of the wing internally, to clean up the wing, and free up the wing mounts for ord.
They held 400 rpg, but when the Invader mounted 4 of them (1 per wing mount, 4 pods, 8 guns) they took a very serious hit in their speed.
But, as the wing mounts were fairly standard, mounting them to a P-38, especially since they had gun pods laying about after the Invaders were all being retrofitted to the block-50 configuration, I could see it being done.
BUT, it sounds like a field modification, and not a standard configuration, and I can't think of any planes we've got that are field mods in the game.

lol, i agree!
-
"Hard to find additions to the japanese planeset" Hmmm... You are right about the Ki 100, just a radial engine version of the Hien...
But the N1K1J Shiden/George, thats a good one!!! Fast, armored, very tough, and heavily armed....
Ki 44 Shoki/Tojo, another good one, both were recognized as formidable adversaries, late in the war...
But by that time the japs didn't have enough experienced pilots to fly them...
They would make gareat add's to the game

Plenty of N1K2-J's in the game now. Over 6% of the planes flown this tour have been Nikis (out of 74 planes total). Don't need the K1. More N1K2's fly every night in the areas than were ever built during WWII.
Ki-44. Speed and climb ability. Early version with 4 X 7.7mm arrangement, which is kinda weak in the areas where this would be a B&Z plane? Or one of the later Heavy gun arrangements, some with the Ho3 which had a slow rate of fire (good vs buffs, not so good vs fighters)? Probably the best choice would be the late war Ki-44 IIIa 2,000 hp engine and four 20 mm Ho-5 cannons or the Ki-44 IIIb two 20 mm Ho-5 cannons and two 37 mm Ho-203 cannons.
A Japanese B&Z plane that could actually climb (which the Ki-61 is not so good at). Probably do well as a bomber interceptor and B&Z with extending.... but I think it would get chewed up trying to dogfight.
-
The K1s and K2s were pretty much different airframes... K1 had a midwing, and shorter fuselage, also auto manuevering flaps.... K2 was low wing, longer, and no special flaps...Both came with the cannons...
I didn't see the K2 in the inventory, hiding near the ostwind..... Tried it, pretty cool plane.... Great firepower.... But short ammo supply....

Surely you jest?

LOL, sure.... You can never have enough ammo....
I think the Browning .50s give the best firepower vs Mag capacity...
But Geez man, I really love cannons.....BAM BAM BAM!!!!

I like the mk108 myself. THUD.......................TH UD.......................THUD KABOOOOM. Now if I could just hit something with the damn thing.

Ya know about the Stuka siren, you can edit sounds in Stuka file on your computer so when in a dive in Stuka it make a siren-noise.
