Thanks guppy, that is a great start.

Basicly my assignment for my digital imaging class is to make a sureal photoshoped image of a fighter shooting down a ufo on the moon.

A nice big p51/p38 cockpit shot would be great, anything with good visibility through the front of the canopy, guages will for the most part be cropped out, just need a nice big gunsite and a few canopy bars. Composition idealy would have half of the area dominated by the cockpit. The focus is on the alien space craft being shot down. (maybe it should be shooting down an la7 heehe).

Check the Smithsonian - Air & Space publishes plenty of books with high quality cockpit shots.  They probably have a digital archive you can access.

If you have a specific aircraft in mind, I have several good photos and also a vast library to call on to help.  PM me what you are looking for, and I will see what I can do to help.
