Hi,
Some of the elevation tiles seem corrupted in map maker, they are all full of tall spikes instead of nice elevation. But i haven't changed anything since last time i used it few weeks ago.
Even tried re downloading the dem files.Still having the same problem.
Anyone ever had the same prob, if so, how did you fix it?
-
I wish I could remember what causes that. But, I went to using Photoshop for dem files ages ago.
-
I see...
Anyway, what extension do you set the dem files to be opened by PS?
-
.raw
-
I tried that before, get very awkward results.
Continents and land is not recognizable at all.
-
You have to set correct proportions when opening the file. Also, IIRC, there is some option about some color depth or bit setting. Just play around it to find right settings, unless you know them already from the source.
-
Ahh yes thank you very much.
I found the info needed in .sch files.
EDIT:Some of the dems still give stretched results, even when following instructions from .sch files
-
Then they may be more accurate in other direction.... e.g. 1 mile vertically, 0,5 miles horizontally per pixel.
Try changing the image size by shrinking it in the other direction.
-
This really isn't working, changing even by 1 pixel messed up the whole image even more.
And i can't believe everything worked ok just a week or 2 ago.
If anyone is willing to post me mmaker.elv and mmaker.typ files of their own, if i give the coordinates.
