"June 6,1944
The Voices of D-Day"
By Gerald Astor
Anyone else read this?
Maybe I just grew too used to Ambose's style But Im finding it hard to get through the first few chapters.
I'm almost to the 5th chapter and this guy is still introducing charactors 74 pages later.
I mean I nkow background info on the people involved is important but C'mon already!
If your going to discribe peoples backgrounds at length at LEAST find more interesting things about their lives to write about.
"So in so was born in Bumfart Iowa, the son of a widget maker" blahh blah bah blah blah over and over and over.
This is getting almost as annoying as a section in Jurrassic park with Ian Malcolm rambling on for like 3 pages.
that was the only time I've ever skipped over a part in a book just to get on with the story.
Im finding myself close to that now.
I sure hope the rest of the book is better written then it has been so far.
Typically I always try to buy books in hardcover only. This is a rare exeption and so far Im glad I didnt waste the extra money
I just picked this up on a whim with some leftover money I had on a giftcard after I bought "Shaws Fighter Combat Tactics and Manuvering".
