No, and i also used to go fishing as a kid, i never felt the need to cut one open while it was alive either.

I don't mind watching fishing shows on TV and seeing folks cut up fish (or sharks or whatever), but doing that to a fish from a koi pond?

I, too, fail to find it very funny. Up to a point it's funny. Then it's just unfunny.

Ok, just to clear up a few things.

1. That fish had been out of the water for 30 minutes before I gutted it. Not that it makes any difference. Either it lays there and suffocates and dies or I gut it and it dies. AND unless you are a completely meat and fish free vegan you have no room to criticize about eating that fish, koi or not, pond kept or not, somewhat alive or not. any ideas what a slaughterhouse is like? i know. i've seen one. it ISN'T pretty.

2. I was just a guest on the show. The show wasn't my idea or concept.

3. The only thing I found offensive about the whole thing was the scene with Jane (the woman who owned the house). I had no knowledge of anything that was too take place on the show prior to my arrival, and nothing about her coming out cussing up a storm. (which I am personally ok with but I dont think it was necessary for the show).

Oh, and thanks for all the kind words and support I've received from so many of you. It means a lot to me.

I can live with the koi incident, but the exploitation of swine in your squad name and logo has got to go.  Pigs don't have wings and might not even like flying.  

Show was fine.  Every living thing is alive while it's being killed.  Maybe fast or slow but there's no way of getting around it.   Lots of folks are removed from the  process so far that the process is offensive to them.   I'm enjoying a piece of fine bear jerky at the moment.  Yes, he was 100% alive when my arrow zipped through him.  

It was a koi.  Do I weep when I see dead bugs in my trucks grill that were killed just so I could drive to the store?  No, well...they are a pain to clean off, but I can hold back the tears on that one.  Will I cry when my 11yo lab departs, you bet.
