There's hope for you yet. You are describing pretty much exactly how I got "fired" from lawncare duty :t

Well that IS how I got fired from clothes-washing duty, but at 2 acres, that is too much to hope for:(

That's also exactly the size of my yard. I'm telling you man, liberate yourself!
It also helps to buy a John Deere lawn tractor with hydrostatic drive and a drink holder.
I cheerfully keep it very well maintained! :D

Every week during the summer there is one day that id really like to put asfalt all over the friggin yard. I hate mowing the lawn except for the first time i do it each spring.
The future gardner is only 3yo but i can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have banned all flowers that is not in pots cause i dont like mowing around things. The missus got the point after a similar experience as BJ had. :D

lol funny stuff bj.
i got the same exemption with the laundry...only had to shrink a few of her sweaters and live to tell the tale.

We spent a good chunk of money on landscaping and have a very large lot for the city. I told her the exact same thing. I was distracted by my son (3 at time) and found out the a 6.5HP Toro can annihilate a Variegated Spirea. She was pissed and seeing how I just started mowing the lawn. I said "Here, finish up and I'll play with Ian (our son)." She went back in the house, and I bought a new Spirea and small barricade.
I ended up trashing the barricade later on. Why some women find the need to put watermelon in the middle of a lawn is beyond my comprehension. It's like they want an obstacle course set-up or something.
I feel yer pain Beej. I'll have to talk to you about this, LOL.

LOL....
PNG at home...
Non gratis you figure out the p part all on your own :aok

the same here. she trained our son how to drive the tractor and relegated me to playing AH while they do the lawn. the boy is now 17 and last week he mowed down her liriope and took a big chunk outta the plumbago. that's my boy.
