Did you try holding down the F8 key and go to safe mode screen?

Choose to go into Safe Mode with ..I think it's enable VGA.

Then reinstall your drivers.

I would recommend running driver cleaner while in safe mode to make sure all related files are removed.

How do you know it's a corrupt graphics driver? As opposed to any number of other things?

I had that happen once. Kept getting an error graphics something or other. Reloaded XP a couple of times and that didn't help. Got a new video card and that didn't help either. Found out one of my memory sticks was bad and that was causing a fault when the graphics driver tried to load. Didn't matter what driver I tried to use or what card I had installed.

Go to Microsoft and download this and run it. Windows Memory Diagnostic (http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp#top)

Read the instructions then download the program to a floppy or burn it to a CD.

Ledpig, you never could fly, so what's the problem again?:D

Le' Pig, I hope you get your computer running again shortly.
Try to find the CD that your graphics card came with.  Then try uninstalling your video drivers first by going into the add/remove programs option in the control panel from safe mode.  Reinstall the driver from the CD and if that doesn't work, run a memory test.  Look in Hornet's post for more info.

Ah, my arch nemesis Her Frogenhausen always good to hear from you. :) While i'm out will you go and warm my 38 up every now and then, you know run the engines every now and then. Don't take her up though it's a difficult plane and you could get hurt. hehe I'll try that memory test thing if everything else doesn't work it's the dreaded destructive system recovery.....:cry

My Dell's 1st hard drive came with my new machine in 2004.  I got a virus on it and I put it aside.  Got me another brand new hard drive and learned the process from scratch.  That 2nd hard drive  I started out with AH.  I got me a PCI graphics card and separate SoundBlaster card and installing them I discovered my XP was corrupted.  So I took the 1st original hardrive and wiped it about 4 times (I kept messing up) and reloaed XP and reinstalled XP.  About 4 days of farting around.  Some difference, let me tell you.

It doesn't lag anything like before.  It runs pretty good.  Still some issues.  I'm self taught.  I learn as I go.

I was going to get a better PC, but I'll wait for AH to catch up with Vista and watch how it progresses via the message board here.

Does that mean you've fixed the corrupt driver with the re-install?
