Title: A big *S* to you oh wiggler of the joystick!
Post by: Sincraft on May 28, 2007, 11:45:30 PM
Tonight, I was flying against a f4u and sprayed this guy with a punishing burst of ammo, he started wiggling and jumping all over the place.  Did a really good job of ensuring that where I was going to shoot, would be over / under , left/right of him.  Until I caught up to him and was , according the the scope - 0 from him...
I then layed every round I had into him, bouncing rounds all over his craft, he wiggled like a funky chicken after eating mad cows walmart beef,
My comrades in arms joined in, and layed into him a punishing good 20-30 seconds of pure lead, he bobbed, weaved and rolled, unphased to his attackers pure wall of lead, not even giving us the recognition of at least puffing smoke, oil or gas!

Alas, we heard the calls of our fellows screaming that 3 EA were diving in to support him, as the need to kill this guy far exceeded our needs to survive.

Suffice to say, I died...parchuted out and watched somone finally take his wing off.

>I didn't even get an assist<

Previously, he was warping...seemingly JUST as you shot at him.

It's a game, and there is delay, but at 400 then 200 then almost on top of him, I poured into him like I've never before.  I'm think I'm ok with my shots, especially in these situations, definitely a favorite.

Oh well - ... So here's to you o wiggler of joystick, your ability to ride the fine line and know EXACTLY how to position your craft and wiggle your stick violently without the nifty system message warning.......

:)  Frustrating, but definitely worth the price of admission tonight! :)

nah, Ill tell ya what is really annoying.......
Cable pullers, yeah thats right the guy that conviently when your d300 off his 6 warps 2-3k away(via pulling their rj45 out of the back or the modem or hitting the "pause" button on the RCA cabble modems), and just keeps a jumpin' around and either kills ya or runs away.

It's the weather.

The mid west has been flattened by tornados and your internet connections have suffered.

It's just the nature of the beast. Things will be back to normal soon I'm sure.

Dude, I've been 200 back and blown my entire ammo store and not hit a thing. I've been 500 back and killed with a 1 second burst. That's what to work on.  Altitude and gunnery is life, if someone disagrees, I'd love to hear the argument.

Edit- Yeah  I know , I know, connection can affect it-just tryin'to help.

I will say this...If you have really good aim they usually don't get a chance to stick jerk...Also, thankfully, for a horrible pilot like myself, you don't have to do alot of fancy flying, they rarely last long enough... ;)

$20 says the "Hit %" is the factor here.    One guy who runs his mouth on 200, has a fighter Hit % of 3%.   :aok

Can't disagree with the last two posts.  Good call:aok

...and Zazen, cut that horrible pilot crap-I'll take advice from you anyday!  Especially since I can't hit a barn with the Osty!

I know exactly what he is talking about.

If your using .50 cals and your on someones 6 and they pull the "Dry Land Trout" manuver, you can empty all your rounds into a guy and not have him go down. If your plane is cannon equipped, this usually doesn't present a problem.

The "Dry Land Trout" manuver is allowable within the game parameters and it's does not generate the "Don't move your controls rapidly" message ... it frustrates the crap out of me, cause physically, one's eye would pop out of their heads if they did all those +/- G manuvers in rapid succession, but that is not modeled in Aces High ... but I don't get pissed about it.

I wasn't referring to you on the second part of my post.   Please don't take what I said personal.

After reading Slap's post, I'll see if I can find this happening, never really noticed this.

i have noticed this alot, mostly against 190's. you get on their six and i guess they don't know how to force an overshoot or flat scissors so they just flop around trying to dodge your bullets. it is very very hard to get a kill with .50 cals when they are doing this because you can't hit them in the same spot for any length of time. definitely frustrating now that i fly the f4u almost exclusively. i think htc needs to either make the "don't move your controls so rapidly" more sensitive or they need to simulate eyes popping out of your skull for this noobishness to stop.
