Title: Logitech® USB Headset 250
Post by: Avenger8 on May 31, 2007, 09:28:57 AM
Hello,

I tried to search for this topic, but usb and 250 were under the 4 letter requirement for a search.

Anyway,  do these usb only headsets work with Aces High ? This headset only has 1 wire. I am a new player and am interested in using the mic feature.

P.S. The reason why I specified this headset in particular is because I can get this headset for free from a friend.

Thanks, Avenger8

I use a Logitech usb headset/mic combo and it works just fine in the game.

I went through (3) different Plantronics headsets.  Each time OddCAF told me to just get a stand alone mic and headphones.   After the thrid mic went out, I bought a Logitech stand alone mic.   It improved chat clarity tenfold.   About three weeks ago the headphones went out mid game, I then purchased a pair of Phillips DJ style headphones and it is great.

I listen to music in the background while flying, I should have listened to Odd 3 years ago.

Thank you for the feedback fellers. It is greatly appreciated. Hopefully I'll have the headset by this weekend's all night flight-fest :)

I've been using an LTB USB surround headset/mic for a couple years now.. all trouble free... sound quality is incredible!

The adjuster clip broke on the left side, but no matter I have it adjusted all the way out anyway.

WOW, Mash.. I am still on my 1st Plantronics n90 headset w/mic.........and it is roughly 4 years old and still sounds like new.........my only habit is forgeting to unmute the mic button when  I mute it to talk to others here at home.......

I do know the older ones are built better than the new Plantronics.......I purchased a set for my youngest daughter and it doesn't fit the same, or have the same clarity as my old set.....

Why would you need to mute the mic when you have to press a transmit key or button to transmit in game?

well, mic is always plugged in, so when I am watching a movie or video, or listening to music, the mic is active and sometimes picks up sound and gives mixed sound and feedback if i lay it close to the desktop speakr......

other times, I might be on the phone and flying at same time and I have a habit of letting squaddies hear a 1 sided conversation.........or hear me talking to one of the kids at home........

so when I log back on to game I am talking away, but they  tell me they can't hear me,  heh..........I even log out of game to figure out what is wrong.....

then it dawns on me,,stupid....you got your mic muted........:(

There should be a setting in windows driver for your sound card that sets your mic to muted unless you push a button TC .

I just checked mine and it's muted .

I think this is what DREDIOCK is refuring to .

Dont know about the rest of you but in game if I want to transmit I have to manually pressand hold  a button or in my case a key to transmit on either range or squad Vox.

If I dont hold down either of these buttons while Im talking.
I can be shooting a gun off in my house right next to my mic and nobody in game will hear me.

yes, yes it all works that way airspro / Drediock....but have you ever heard of holding a key down unintentionally?.........

same as you start to type but you pause on a key, shift key perhaps and it pops up the lil "FILTERKEYS" WARNING????

have you never been talking and accidnetally be holding down the button programmed to "T" for  tuned vox channel or holding down the F12 for range vox channel?.......

and as far as having the mic properties set to "muted"  it is muted for most app's but some apps it still picks up sound regardless if it is checked muted or not........

don't know why  this got sidetracked from being a thread about  "headsets/mic combos"

but anycase.........crap happens....good day
