Title: Kitesurfing

Okay, all you thrill seekers and communers with nature, how many of you are into kitesurfing?  Looks like just about the ultimate sport.  I've surfed and windsurfed, but I'm not adventuresome enough to try kitesurfing.

Where do you kitesurf and what tips do you have for newcomers to the sport?

Sorry, I don't know why this doesn't show and I'm tired of fooling with this process.  Google for kitesurfing and you'll find better photos than this one anyway.

I know a guy that has a kite buggy...

Same idea. One of these days, I'm going to have to try it... I've got one power kite that could pull it.

I've got a two-line kite and a couple of quad-line kites... my advice is to learn how to fly them before you strap on to a board. ;)

i kitesurf in newquay during the summer. i'm no expert, but i do ok. it's a very easy sport to pick up, especially if you have experience with windsurfing and waterskiing/wakeboarding.

it can be tough to start, but you pick it up fast. great fun and great exersize. i started two years ago and have a pretty tough upper body and arms now, and i only manage a few weeks each year :)

i presume you live somewhere near a beach. a lot of surf shacks do lessons, just walk up the beach and try find one (i hope it's the same over there as it is here)



it's great fun and a great adrenaline rush, good luck in finding a place to do it :aok

The Columbia River Gorge between Wash, and Oregon i must say rocks for any kind of wind surfing and I've seen kite surfers and man they can catch some big time air 10 to 30 feet off the water and fly for couple hundered feet.

Best place to watch them is between Hood River and The Dalles Oregon, the wind is always gusting hard there and that means max Air, i stopped the car and we watched them for hours, seems like a hella lota fun to me.
