Can anyone tell me where it is safe to land in town these days (HTC)? Use to be you could land anywhere on concrete. Instead of landing 14 kills the other day in osti and 10 in Tiger I got a ditch. Is there a safe place to land, most the time base is a far piece to drive all the way back to land?

I think it's a joke that landing anywhere in your own town ISN'T SAFE to land. You should be able to land there. Also, it is a joke that when you drive back to where you spawned from, you get a captured or ditch.
One time I gathered 9 quick kills in an Ostie on uterus. I drove from A19 to A1. I had Rooks coming over me just to laugh. But screw it, I earned em and wasn't giving em up without a fight. I even had to shoot the same guy down 3 times, who kept upping to get me "off the beaten path".
I agree ghst, something should be done.

I think you'll find your OK on a road but some paths (sidewalks) give ditches like the one by the big drum:aok

If i remember correctly you can land gvs anywhere just that theer has to be no nme gvs around, or any nmes?
I just went offline, drove a jeep 10 miles away from anything, stopped and landed successfully. You should be able to do the same in ma if no nmes.
I think ht said so too.no nme gvs around.

Once you get hit, I have found you cannot land successfully.

If he has to do that, he could just go back to his base, which is much closer.

Last week I was in a tank battle at an enemy base in MW, got hit, turret smoking and went back a little past our spawn point and got a successful landing. I did make sure I was beyond enemy icon range and a little behind our spawn though. Also there were no planes around so nothing to worry about there, otherwise it may have been a death.
That said you do get a ditch if you're not on the concrete near a friendly field or town and that is weird.
Also, last night I was at an enemy spawn point near a friendly field and got a successful landing.
I've never seen a ditch on concrete but you have to be careful to be entirely on the concrete. Sometimes if you're off even a little you'll get the ditch.

It almost seems hit or miss on getting the Landing Successful message.

HiTech any answer on this question. Why did it change? Use to get successful landing anywhere on concrete in town.
-
AS long as no enemy air OR ground guys are within 6k i get a successful landing 90% of the time, and i bet that in the remaining 10% there is a chute, gv plane or something i cant see within icon range.
-
there is one opposite the map room between two houses. theres a concrete path between maproom and a concrete area by buildings, DO NOT LAND THERE, i have got 2 ditches there.
-
If your plane was damaged, and you landed in town, AND there is enemy close, it MAY result in a ditch now. Guess we'll just have to pay attention, or watch films afterwards, to get a good feel for how this is working now.
-
Or!Even better, let's all fly planes and play the game it was intended to be played!:D
(this was a joke, so i don't want to see those comments on how ah is both air, ground bla bla game)
-
As Long as no enemy around- successful, even at enemy base I get them.

The argument on landing is always that, if you could land anywhere on the base, then someone would argue being 100 yrds away is close enough. I think you should get a landing anywhere within the perimeter of the town or base.
Lately, we've had enemy GV's on our own base tower out without getting a kill or proxy, even when we have pinged them.
Without an explanation, it does seem like a roll of the dice.
-
Roll the dice is dead on.
I've taken planes apart, watched them "ditch" when I expected a kill. (not on concrete but on grass and water).
I've been "killed" when landing on cement. I've gotten ditches on cement. Probably about 20% of the time I get a surprise. Maybe it's built in to keep us on our toes.
-
First thing I want to see is the takeoff for the Tiger, then a few flybys.........then we will work on the landing.:aok
-
15 min to go up to the Spawn wait and hunt gv's for 10 min 6 kills and 7 min to dive back
To this Roll the dice (http://putstuff.putfile.com/85932/7307619)
 :furious.
