Here is a good article on the ceremony at Midway.  I flew a Military Historical tour there with about 130 people, including two of the Midway vets.  We spent 8 hours there and attended the ceremony.

Not much height on this nice islands.
I wonder how long this islands will be vissible in our time,
where climate change is happening.

I didn't go swimming but typically the aqua blue portions of a lagoon are pretty shallow like 1' - 30'.  They did have a beautiful swimming beach there and you could see Manta Rays, green turtles, and a couple Monk Seals.
