When the AVG (Flying Tigers) were replaced in China by the 23rd Fighter Group, they retained the shark mouth on their P-40's.
I've noticed the P-40B has the AVG skin, but the P-40E doesn't have a shark mouth skin with the U.S. insignia on the wings.
I would like to throw the request out for one of the skin guys (Greebo, Krusty, etc...) to do a P-40E skin with the 23rd Fighter Group camo paint job with the sharks mouth.
Thanks,
Toonces

disregard.
Just found the skin downloads section and realized it's already in there.
Great work guys!

Yeah but they also had the shark mouth for other planes aswell.
I belive they had b24's with them also.

We have B-24s with them.
Also P-51s, P-38s, stukas...

The AVG used them on P40s. Then when the AVG was absorbed into the USAAF, they kept them on later P40s. Then the B24s in the group that those P40s were escorting began using them as a homage to the tradition of the Flying Tigers.
So basically the B24 has it because it's a Flying Tiger! (or, rather, nearly so! :lol )

Those still look pretty good.
Ugliest shark mouth job I ever saw was a Lancaster that had had the shark mouth applied not to the fuselage, but one to each of the four Merlin engine nacelles.

I've been using Fester's P-40 skins. They are the best of the P-40s as Fester spares no effort on the details.
