I think the last time I watched a show regularly was when Alias was on a few years ago. And I *loved* that show.
Usually our family doesn't watch the shows until after they're out on season DVDs (usually I have out cable disconnected during the school year...then turn it back on just for the summer months when the kids are out of school).
Yes... overbearing mother who hates everything on TV, and the lack of discipline the children are apt to show if they've got the remote.

Favourite of the last year has been Battlestar Galactica. Even my girlfriend likes it - surprising given that it isn't a Pop Idol clone or The OC.
Easily the most consistent programme I've watched, whereas Lost simply became a ridiculous mess.
-
Mythbusters
Hyperdrive on BBC but they only made 3 or 4 episodes. Hopefully it was successful enough to make more. Funny as heck!
-
Stargate SG1
Atlantis
BSG
Eureka (can't wait for season 2)
Anything on the History channel, Military channel, and Discovery channel.
Scrubs
-
History Dectectives
Hell's Kitchen
BSG (on DVD, don't have Sci Fi)
NOVA
Frontline
Anything on HC, DC, HC-I, NASA.
But above all...
House, M.D.
That show rules.
-
Simpsons, King Of The Hill... Good stuff there, I'll tell ya what.

Actually I have two favorite channels I watch most of the time when I find time to watch TV- The History Channel (#1) and The Comedy Channel (#2). I end up watching The History Channel the most. The Comedy Channel often times has some really bad "comedy" on it.

Trailer Park Boys. It is only available on Showcase in Canada AFAIK but there are other ways to find it:noid
Also a big fan of Weeds, and although I'm not real big on japanimation Samurai Champloo was an awesome series.

Enjoy it while it lasts. BG is gone after four seasons.

... I can't really say it's a favorite or not... but I seem to watch Scrubs more than any other show on television. Of course, Scrubs is on eight different channels for a total of 63 shows per day so it's hard to avoid.

Bear Grylls is way more entertaining than Les Stroud.
Criss Angel... is okay if you're into watching 30 minutes of someone else's self indulgent ****.
-

The good news is that House fired the three flunkies. Maybe the stories will get better... they were starting to get stale, IMHO.

Zactly! But stale House is better than 99.9% of the crap that's out there now.

I think the show started to get formulaic and they realized it soon enough to make some corrections. The episodes with David Morse were the best, I think. If the producers have the stones, they'll right Epps, Morrison, and Spencer out and leave it that way.

Yeah, starts filming.

I liked the shield and
Deadwood
the first two seasons of BSG
Firefly..
I kind of don't like house because everyone who knows me and watches it says that the guy is me. right down to the gimpy leg... This shows a certain lack of sensitivity in my opinion and.... I don't gimp around near as bad. I do like the guys attitude tho. He needs to come to grips with his drug addiction tho... that part is pretty unrealistic.
