I have heard alot about the Hurri and its tank busting guns! Can I hit a barn door with them... not a chance!!
So any help using them and actually hitting let alone nuking a tank would be most appreciated!!

I can hit with them but they are useless. You need several passes to maybe smoke one. Use the IL2. One or two good passes from their 6 and they go boom
-
Thanks for that, is this using the IL2's Cannons or do you use soemthing more substantial?
-
Bombs on an IL2 will kill if you can land them directly on top of a tank (with enough air time for them to arm) but for the cannon just come in low (flat angle) and fire at the weak spots.

thanks for that, mmm next question where are the weak spots?

If you can hit, you can kill.
Hurri2D takes a little more practice than the Il2, but once you have the knack, you can easily nail any tank in game, including the Tiger (which is about invulnerable to the Il2 cannons). In fact, if both Ords & VH are down at a base, the only thing to stop a Tiger is upping a Hurricane IID!
The only GV I would not really recommend to attack in a Hurri2D is the Ostwind
- Put your convergence down to 300
- Attack the tank at a very steep angle. Only Panzer/Ostwind and less armored GVs are really susceptible for close quarters rear level attacks.
- When diving, reduce throttle, down to about a quarter. The slower you descend, the more time you have for aiming.
- Shoot the 40mm's only. The machine guns will only clutter your view
- Shoot at D400 or less. But watch for altitude, don't forget to break off. Most Hurri2D pilots die because they auger.
- Conserve your ammo. Shoot only one burst at a time, do not hold the button down. If you don't get a good target solution or getting too low (watch that trees!), break off and start another run.
- Generally aim for the top of the engine compartment or turret. The Tiger seems to be quite vulnerable at the drivers position, too.
You can practice all that offline, where a T34 and a Tiger are waiting for your guns. Go to Options/Arena Setup/ Environment/Arena Settings. Search for PlaneGunAmmoMult and set it's value to 10 to get a bit more ammo, so you don't have to land that often ;)
Here is a short HurriIID film:

If you attack with the Il2 23mm cannons:
Panzer IV: Anywhere on top, or a level attack directly from behind - shoot at D200 in that case
Ostwind: Shoot the turret at a steep angle.
M4: Steep dive, aim for the engine compartment right behind the turret.

Cannons. get low and shoot their 6

Lusche is totally right the hurri 2 d is a bad as plane.
Apart from the great comments by lusche i find a combo sustained burst always does the trick.
If your speed and line up are good and you have enough time to fire 3 lots of rounds in quick succesion and they all hit it pretty much disables or blows up any panzer/m4. T34 and tigers seem a little tougher.
Also last week whilst i was trying to do some GV's over some pesky noobs in fighter planes were trying their best to fly infront of my guns. I got 3 a2a kills in 6 rounds (2 per plane) doing a flat turn infornt of a hurri 2d and pulling a sweet deflection isn't advisable.
Watching planes disintegrate when they kop a 40mm is priceless.

OK thanks guys will have a try offline first then go for it for real!!
