Jericho, one of my personal favorite TV shows, is back from the dead. CBS cancelled this very complex post nuclear war Kansas town after the ratings dropped. Luckily a very rabid and ingenious fan response made CBS think twice.
This show is very good. It has a tendency to drift into soap opera from time to time, but otherwise it's edge of the seat drama. Imagine surviving a nuclear attack and it's everyone for themself. The country is in shambles and nobody is sure who attacked us. Thanks to massive EMP's, no lights, no phone, no modern cars. Not a single luxury. Like Robinson Caruso it's primitive as can be. The series finale had the town making a desperate last stand against an overwhelming force of outlaws from the neighboring town, a la the 101st in Bastone. When asked if they would surrender, their reply was "Nuts!"
When fans learned of Jericho's cancellation they sent CBS a reply. Tons of nuts began arriving at CBS headquarters. So many in fact that CBS ordered 7 new episodes for next season and issued a conditional surrender. "Please stop sending us nuts!":aok

I really enjoyed season one. If anyone is interested in catching up, you can watch all of season one on the CBS website with a broadband connection.
Glad to see it's going to make a comeback!

WOLVERINES!!!!
Yeah, this does sound pretty interesting.
Any hot robo...errr, chicks in it?
-
omfg yes!!!! lol i must admit i was one who sent a nuts!!!! email, i was so pissed to be lleft hanging forever, i dout how long it will last though, but its a great show.
any ideas on the bald guy who controls the military?
-
I honestly have no clue on the bald guy and where that part of the story will go. I'm still floored they killed off Johnston Green. He was my favorite character. I have a bad feeling he will appear in flashbacks now and I hate that.
I started watching the show because I've liked Skeet Ulrich ever since "Ride With The Devil" and I've always been a Gerald McRainey fan.
Neat bit of trivia... If you decode the morse code at the start of the show it gives you a short clue to what is going to happen in that episode.
Also found this on imdb. It's a copy of a message posted in the Jericho CBS forum...
"Dear Jericho Family,
Everyday I sit at my computer in total amazement. This huge response to the cancellation of Jericho is both humbling and inspiring; please accept my most heartfelt thanks. Also, know that my family and I applaud your determination and your style; you are one classy fan base!! I have been acting for 32 years and have never experienced such a reaction before, and I am right there with you. There are so many shows that, if gone wouldn't be missed ( and I've done some of those too), but this was not one of those shows. Our show had rich production value and great writing, which included intelligent story lines and characters that evolved, surprised and had depth. And, in my humble opinion, the acting wasn't too shabby either.
Our creators expected the audience to keep up as they worked tirelessly to stay ahead; unlike some shows, our scripts were eagerly anticipated by the entire cast and crew. CBS got quite a bit of bang for their buck, and for the life of me, I cannot understand why we weren't renewed. Our numbers are not all on the Nielson Box; most of my son's friends watched it on their computers and unfortunately CBS doesn't seem to understand that math sentence. Well, that is until all of you started to weigh in. Thank you for speaking out. Thank you for your dedication. Thank you for taking the high road. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like to bake each of you your favorite batch of cookies.
Sincerely,
Pamela Reed aka Gail Green"

Never heard of it but it sounds interesting. They actually show guns being used by private citizens to defend themselves and their families? CBS?

Check it out lazs. It's like a post-apocalyptic Lord of the Flies taking place in Anytown, USA.
-
lazs, you would dig it. They use lots of guns. A young teenage girl shot a guy in the head defending her family and didn't flinch.
-
It's "no motor cars". :p
-
Would any of the people in it have any use for an "assault rifle"?
Where are the cops and the military? surely there would be no need to protect yourself in a modern country? That was outdated thinking by a bunch of stuffy old white guys 200 years ago!

I had to change the lyric to fit. All cars with electronic ignition are fried by EMP. Only cars with points and condensers will run.
Lazs, they formed their own security modeled after WW2 Army Rangers. They have plenty of assault weapons that were stashed away that came in handy when needed.
They were just getting into the military side of the story when the season ended. It was a coordinated terrorist nuclear attack across the country. Right now there are 3 different governments fighting for control.

sounds very cool.. stashed away rifles that were banned by the democrats? LOL... CBS???
The EMP thing is great... I would be riding my old BMW motorcycle around and...
I have a half dozen or so points type distributors laying around that I could convert some cars and trucks to.
Being able to reload ammo might be a useful skill too.
I will look to see if they have the series on DVD

I loved Jericho.. Watched every episode on my cpu at work. Great show slow at times but entertaining. The last episode gave me chills.

If they incorporated elements of Fallout, I might watch it. :)
