Hey,
Thank you guys for taking the time to read this. My mum needs to do some research for work, and is utterly lost. She needs to find pictures of Navy nurses, world war two, mid war, in the pacific theatre, as well as sea-bees, world war two, mid war, pacific theatre. We've looked at the Osprey books but havnt found too many that are useful. Ive tried google, and gone about 20 pages deep and couldnt quite find anything, so now im coming to you guys. Guppy, or one of you other experts, if you have any pictures, or maybe a book or website that would be useful, I would greatly appreciate it.

For 'seabees' type in Construction Battalion. Seabee is slang for the acronym C.B or Construction Battalion. tons of info there.
Nurses

More info on nurses in the Pacific might be found by searching for Hospital ships that operated in that theatre.

Alright. Shes working on some T.V. show making costumes, so what we (she) needs is basically pictures and details about the uniforms of both.

Best book on WWII nurses I've read (it's awesome!) is We Band of Angels. It's about the navy & army nurses held captive by the Japanese at Santo Thomas during WWII.
Also, I've got lots of links that I can send her to. But she can google Helen Burrey, Dorothy Danner should pull up great sites. Also, have her google Santo Thomas and nurse together. Then check those sites out. Those will have photos & awesome stuff on the nurses of WWII era.
I'm going out of town for the weekend, but when I get back I'll send the links I know of that are super resources for looking up info on both Navy & Army nurses in the pacific during the wwii timeframe.

sorry about the second post. I was trying to edit the first one & accidentally hit 'quote' instead.

Possibly. Im not too sure, and shes been refusing to clarify. She just turned down a big Ben Stiller movie, so apparently some of the big companies know her...

Really cool site of rare color WW2 photos.
There are a lot of cool photos here and I seem to recall some nurses in action shots. You have to look through tha albums though. Others might as well as I remember. Not sure about usage rights off hand. Probably none, but check first if this is going public.

NAVAL HISTORICAL CENTER - Women in the US Navy:

This includes other links ~ look in particular toward the bottom where it shows the uniform regulations (no pictures on that particular piece, but good info). And check out the WAVE photos toward the bottom of that page as well. Those are good.
