Living in Oklahoma we take pride in our State.
Been to Texas, not impressed. Thank GAWD for the RED River... keeps a few of the Texicans away.
Recently in Bossier City, LA I had the honor to step into a dive next to the Texas Roadhouse restuarant off of I20, Minter Rd exit next to the Hamptom Inn, called the Rodeo Inn or some crap like that.
Line dancing to Disco... Plastic Cowboys dressed up in yer favorite colors.
a $5 cover charge and all I thought was "Broke Back Mountain".
Avoid this place.
Boot Scootin is Oklahoma.

No I never listened to music while I was flying, had to keep my ears open for my element leader, "Wing, where the **** are you??????"
As for my faves I have far too many to list. I have some rare stuff. In fact the first CD I ever bought (wayyy back in 1987) was Jimi Hendrix - Live At Winterland which has been long out of print. Also, Radio One is a good one too but I think it's long out of print as well. There's some great tracks on there, especially "Drivin' South" (turn it WAY up) and Jimi's cover of The Beatles "Paperback Writer". When he hits the fuzz face on the final verse it'll make you weak in the knees! Check out Jimi Hendrix - Blues, some great stuff on there as well including "Voodoo Chile Blues" a sort of preamble to "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)". Plus I have the Jimi Hendrix Live 4-CD set from 1991 where each CD is a full concert from each year, 1967 - 1970, that's no longer in print either. Anyway, I could go on and on.
As far as Stevie, you'll find no bigger fan than I am. I literally live and died with him. August 27th, 1990 is a day I'll long remember.

Just a dog gone second Okie Joe. You're blaming Texas for a dive in Louisiana?? At least ya got one part right...
Thank God for the Red River.

Texas Roadhouse restaurants aren't even Texan. They're owned by a company in Kentucky.

Ohhh PahLeez....
You have to admit that TX and LA can't hold a light to OK.
Seen nothing but toilet paper at the TX/OK Border, all pointing South.
So you lil Texican Minds, stay there... Oklahoma doesn't need yer tulips coming North.
You have Border Patrol? We in Oklahoma have better...
Don't swim across the river, you'll feed the fish...simple as that.
We know how to fix yer problem...

Drivin South sounds great. But ive heard better.
