Title: Hotmail accounts
Post by: MrRiplEy[H] on June 12, 2007, 03:40:31 PM
Microshaft did it again..

All hotmail customers were upgraded to the lame 'live hotmail' system which basically only gave eye candy to the service. They say its free..

But it only cost you all of your e-mail history. Deleted. Gone. Poof.

Way to go Micro$haft.

I only use Outlook for work.   I'll never use it at home.

AOL did the same thing...useless eye candy that doesnt load half the time for the email accounts.  Didnt delete emails though thank god.

Samething happened to me. All the stuff I had saved in my folders is gone. My address book is empty, too. Unfortunately I had lots of business contacts stored there because that's one of the few sites I can visit from work.

I guess I dont see what you guys are talkin about.  My hotmail account is fine, nothing appears changed, all my folders are still there, still have all my email,  my contacts are still there.

There is a link near the top asking me to Join Windows Live Hotmail,  very scary stuff...

I dropped hotmail with all the BS adds and other bandwidth wasting crap they put on it. I use Yahoo for mail as it is easily accessible from anywhere and doesn't have but a fraction of the garbage the hot(junk)mail pages had.

As far as saving critical items like contacts and stuff, download them to a thumb drive and or CD periodically.
