Probably IS a Yak, just not one from WWII. After the Cold War, Russia made a large number of Yak-3's in the 1990's for export to those looking for sport and warbird plane markets. Very close to the original Yak-3 from the 1940's.
-
That's a Yak for sure, but it's hard to really tell how close he was to actually hitting the ground. For one thing, if he was THAT close, he would have clipped the prop.
Oz

yah it looked odd...
-
It's a new build Yak with an Allison engine. There was a string of them built and a number are flying around the world.
-
He came damn close to the ground, but I don't think he actually hit it...the prop would have hit first.
-
Noticed him wave as he pulled up. Looks like he knew darn well he almost bought the farm and was letting the crew know he got away clean.
-
classic warp through the ground is all.... proll lag :lol
-
lol he hax
-
he knew he was close to buying it, look at the angle of attack he pulls just before he gets back in the air, almost came close to pulling the stick right back out of the socket on that one, i bet.
-
Pucker factor = INFINITE.
If he was pulling hard enough he could have spanked the tail without clipping the prop. You do realize that a plane doesn't follow a laser line in reality like it does on the computer, right?
That was awful close. Glad he made it.

Ive hit my belly in here and not damaged the prop :)

but u did break your tail?....
-
its all a hoax. He pulled his cat 5 cable to cause lag, and pluged it back in before he lost UDP.
-
ok guys i just watched the vid and paused several times, not only did he not touch , but there is a pretty large depression in the ground that may have given him 10+ feet clearence

(In game) I was flying B-26s NOE, and realized I didn't have enough energy to clear the hilltop with room.
All I heard from the cockpit was the *screech* sound the bottom of my fuselage made when it scraped the top. Amazingly, no props were bent and nothing was missing....just a long stretch of paint. :aok

I ding the tops of GVs all the time with my tail wheel. It's fun. I just hope they hear the same thing I do.
