Title: Unable to insert pictures in posts: could someone explain it to me?

Hi all,

I've been writing in this forum for some time but I never had the need to add pictures.

Now I do and I can't do it because there's something I'm failing to understand in the FAQ.

I would appreciate any help on this.

HT won't 'store' your picture for you-- you have to provide a link to a site that DOES store your picture--- the 'insert image' thingie refers to that. Photobucket is such a place...there are a few others, but they seem just fine

or incase you have got the pics hosted and you cant figure the system in here its like this.

first right click on the link to download or view your pic at the hosting site and select properties.

second highlight the http address and copy it with 'CTRL C' (that typicaly ends with your file name after the hosting site's address.)

lastly, as you are writting a post here, hit the 'IMG' button just underneath the subject entry box. a small window will pop up with a text buffer to type the image address in. paste in the link with 'CTRL V' and press ok.

another way is to avoid the IMG button and just type:


[IMG] paste link here [/IMG$] excluding the $ sign as i have to add that for it not to think im posting a link.

Now, I understand what I was doing wrong! LOL!
